Re: Removing fuel gauge?

So I took the safer option and poured a kettle of boiling water around the ring.I don't know if it made any difference as it still took quite a hammering to get it to turn but I'm in now and the tank is full to the brim. :-)

Re: Removing fuel gauge?

The way I see it,it won't be any worse than my motorbike fuel tank sitting above a hot engine. If I'm still around I'll let you know if I was wrong! :-)

Re: Removing fuel gauge?

That's what I thought. Was wondering if a bit of GENTLE heat from a hot airgun might help free it.Obviously not a blow torch though! Lol.

Re: Fuel pump priming when engine off and wipers come on with dipped beam

As I said in another post this morning check for water in the fuse box under the bonnet. All sorts of electrical gremlins seem to come from here!

Re: Electric Fault-ABS Warning Light-Heavy Steering

Possibly water has got into the electrical connectors on the fuse box under the bonnet.I had similar symptoms but even worse (I couldn't turn the engine off) after a particularly soggy weekend. My local garage sorted it by drying them off and spraying them with electrical contact cleaner.Everything w...

Removing fuel gauge?

I've decided to try and sell my Megane for spares or repair because of electrical faults. It's got a full tank of petrol in it though.I thought I might be able to get at the tank through the fuel gauge(or is it the pump) under the back seat.Does the black ring around it just unscrew?

Turning off abs light.

I've just bought a Megane Dynamique that had the abs light on.It was just a sensor that had come adrift so I stuck it back in place with JB Weld and when I turned on the ignition the light went out.50 yards up the road it came back on though. If the fault is sorted should the light go out itself or d...

Re: Hi guys(and gals)

All sorted with the abs light. It was just a sensor that had come adrift because where it plugs in had rotted away.Stuck back in place with JB Weld and the light went out instantly.I got £30 off the asking price for a new sensor....happy days! :-)

Hi guys(and gals)

Hi,I've just got myself a 2004 Megane 2 Dynamique.I'm well chuffed with it,it looks and drives great.I only paid £370 with 10 months MOT so it's not the end of the world if it doesn't go through another MOT but hopefully I'll have it for a while.Just a problem with the abs light but hopefully someon...
