Re: how can i tell the turbo has been upgraded, dci 1.9?

It is not easy to tell by looking at the pipes.. You could go to your dealer and get a printout of the warranty work that has been carried out.. You will however have to ask the service dept nicely if they could then get the parts breakdown.. Note however they may not do it as the parts have been re...

Re: FAP filter keeps getting blocked

AlexB Let me clarify.. 5w40 ACEA C3 was the origionally specified "minimum" grade for the 1.9DCi 130 with Fap.. With the introduction of the laguna III as per the "oil standards" document that you have correctly published, it does indeed specifiy ACEA C4 specifically for the Fap ...

Re: FAP filter keeps getting blocked

My 1st question is what ACEA grade of oil has been used when the vehicle has been serviced.. It MUST be C3 like this http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-878-motul-8100-x-clean-5w-40-acea-c3-gasoline-diesel-lubricant-for-euro-iv-engines.aspx If you use a lower grade with higher sulphur, ash content it will R...

Re: Steering Collum and Rotary switch

It should be covered under warranty.. Unless it has been damaged..

Do you need the complete column? If so it can be repaired by this lot http://www.bba-reman.com/ Highly recommended by me as I have used them many times..

Re: Driving in Europe

You will have to buy a "beam bender" kit to stop the UK kick up.. The lights have no facility to be adjusted to lefthand drive.. I would recommend that you purchase the kit here in the UK not on the Ferry as on both Sea france and P&O they are a rip off  .. Remember you MUST also...

Re: 04 Megane DCI Cut Out Suddenly!!

If you the turbo has blown and destroyed the engine then you may well be in luck.. Renault introduced an "OTS" to cover this problem that extends the Engine warranty to 5 years or 90K miles.. This warranty will cover the engine IF the failure was due to the Turbo charger failing. For this ...

The OE clutch manufacturer will be either Valeo or LUK.. A new one will be available from any decent motor factor at a price cheaper than Renault..

Re: Renault megane 1.6 2003 daynamic vvt fuel filter position?

The filter is in the Tank and forms part of the fuel pump assembly.. It is supposed to be replaced every 72K.. However the big risk of removing the pump is deformation of the pump collar thread, which at worst case will require a replacement fuel tank.. Fuel tank deformation (plastic tank) is not an...

Re: key card

I would agree that 1 or more of the door infrared sensors have become defective.. Probably due to water ingress and this has diabled the handsfree opening system.. You need to have the system diagnosed to identify which of the sensors is defective as it could be any one of them.. The cost of 1 senso...

Re: VVT

On the Megane it is an On/Off system.. When the engine revs reach 1,500 the inlet camshaft is retarded by 6 degrees. This gives increased valve "overlap" and increased power output.

Re: HELP WANTED!!!

The Service interval time is 2 years or 18,000 miles whichever comes first for a vehicle of this age.. Face lift models (2006 onwards) have reduced intervals depending on engine type fitted.. I would concur that water has got into the UCH. (under bonnet fuse/distribution box). very common on the ear...
