Thanks guys. After trying to find the pin replacements and failing, I finally managed to find a local scrappers with a megane in, so I got the connector and wired it up. Ive used various code generators, all give the same code (which matches a handbook found later) but it doesn't work. Is it possible someone re-coded the radio with a different code? Is there any way to rescue this radio instead of buying a new one?
