Re: Few Problems with new car!

It's not a job for the faint hearted! There are quite a few things that have to be done properly. Making sure the timing belt is refitted correctly is just part of it.

Re: P0670 Fault Code

Just a heads up, after I did mine, I reset the obd error codes, and it wouldn't remove the error. The check ignition warning disappeared from the dashboard though. When I checked a week or so later, it had cleared itself?

Re: P0670 Fault Code

Yes the car is only lumpy after start when cold. Once up to temp it's fine. Remove the cover and check to see if there is a voltage getting to the glow plug connector. Just pull one of the caps off, put the probe of your meter into the cap, and the other to the engine block, and turn the ignition o...

Re: Megane 1.5dci

Is it turbo? If so, might be the pipe that runs from the PCV valve down to the turbo inlet pipe?
If so, it should just clip on, but it is a ball ache to get at. You need to get the belly pan off, and grope around the back of the engine.

Re: Few Problems with new car!

If you're a gambling man who plays the odds, I'd plump for head gasket. It's certainly the lesser of a bunch of evils. If you get the head off, and it isn't the gasket, you're much closer to diagnosing the problem?

Re: 1.9dci high oil consumption. PCV valve, and oil seperator

The new PCV valve has definitely made a difference on my car. It's hard to quantify, but I haven't topped it up in the three weeks or so since I changed it. I have also fitted an oil catch can, and will be now watching like a hawk to see if it has any effect. We're off to France in a fortnight, so w...

Re: 1.9dci high oil consumption. PCV valve, and oil seperator

Oh, when you get the new one from Renault, it comes with the pipes attached. The one that goes to the back of the engine is a pain in the neck to fit. I didn't bother initially, and just fitted the valve with the pipe to the oil separator. Later, I got it on the ramp, and fitted the back pipe. Frank...

Re: 1.9dci high oil consumption. PCV valve, and oil seperator

Yes, that is how the pipes attach. For what it's worth, mine is definitely better. If it is still burning oil, it's hard to tell how much, as I haven't given it a good trip yet, all been local. I'm off to France in a couple of weeks, so should have a better idea. The little breather hole prevents a ...

Re: P0670 Fault Code

The glow plugs only help the engine start when it's cold, so wouldn't make it run lumpy on tickover. Unless you mean lumpy just after you've started it?

Re: INJECTION LIGHT

One thing, the plastic cover you have to remove to get at them comes off with a bit of brute force, but wouldn't go back. It has to squeeze under the pipework from the intercooler on the left. As it's just a cover, I sawed the corner off and put it back on. It's not caused any problems, but you may ...

Re: 1.9dci high oil consumption. PCV valve, and oil seperator

Mine blows oil out of the pcv pipe on idle, I think a lot do? It reduces to almost nothing when the engine is revved. Did you clear out the pinhole in the pcv valve? You can see it in my picture. If this is blocked, the engine will produce pressure in the crankcase when driven, because the main diap...

Re: injectors

The ECU will have logged a fault. It will be very useful to you, if you know what it is, before chucking additives in your fuel.
