Glovebox jammed shut

Hi All, Been a while since I'v been on here which must be a good sign. We've had our Meg II CC is now over 7 years old and (touch wood) has been completely reliable. Just got a problem though - the glovebox won't open. It seems like the opening flap thing is working normally but the box won't open, ...

Blistering of headlight surround

Hi all, haven't been on this site for a while, which must be a good thing as the CC must have been behaving itself. She's now over four years old. I've just noticed something wierd and wondered if anyone else has had this problem. Its a special edition "dynamique S" so has the black headli...

Re: Panaramic sunroof

I had loads of wind noise and rattles from mine. Thick grease on the runners helps the rattles for a while and lubing the rubbers helps stop creaking noises. The wind noise is mainly due to the alignment of the glass relative to the front seal. This is largely dictated by how they bedded the frame d...

Re: change oil soon

don't forget that the change oil soon message actually means "service due soon" just changing the oil and filter doesn't cover all the items required at a service!

Re: hands free card

Definitley sounds like a sensor and yes, one bad one will stop the whole system from working. Water ingress is the main reason sensors fail so could well be linked to the jetwash!

Re: mpg

In answer to the original question (rather than the following debate about why you shouldn't get a 2.0l petrol!), our 2.0l petrol CC does about 26-27mpg doing short journeys mostly in traffic, on a run it'll manage 34-35mpg.

Re: unlocking doors.

It sounds to me like you have a faulty sensor. The same thing happened to mine. The thing behind the handle that detects your hand stops working and then you have to pull the handle twice. If one goes they all seem to stop responding. If its under warranty get them to fix it, if not decide whether y...

Re: Renault Megane CC - expert advice needed

we are on our second CC, both 2.0 petrol. No reliability issues at all, but pretty low mileage. The only problem we had with the 1st one was a roof leaks. Started out pretty minor and each time solved by cleaning the seals and applying the "magic grease" unfortunately after three goes the ...

As Iain says we have a Jul 07 CC and so far no leaks (touch wood) despite the recent wind and rain!! The current CC was an assisted replacement for our Mar 05 CC which had lots of leaks and the dealer finally gave up trying to fix it and offered us an artificially high trade in and big discount off ...

I've noticed that the lights seem to come on when the sun is low in the sky and shining straight at the windscreen, even though it seems perfectly bright still, and yet other times when there is no sun at all and its getting pretty gloomy they don't come on 'till well after I would have chosen to tu...

Very common problem - well documented on here somewhere if you search. Also very simple to fix if you have any diy skills. If you look at the clutch pedal just above where your toes would be if you had you're foot on it you will see a switch with a wiring connector at the top. In your case you will ...

Hi, 30-35k per year mostly motorway, 1.9dci sport tourer with 205/55/16s Original Michelin Energy's lasted 32,000 miles on the front, 65,000 on the back. The second set of fronts were Michelin primacy which stayed on till 65,000 (so 33,000 miles) and still had 2.5mm left, these then went onto the ba...

The Michelin Energy E3A's seem to be getting quite rare now - I wanted to bring on the spare that came with the car and have a matching tyre on the other side so phoned around several suppliers for an E3A. I was told by many that they are discontinued and have been replaced by the the E3B. The only ...

Regarding the spare wheel, as has been said they come with a full size steel spare regardless of the alloys on the car - the tyre is the same size though. If you are local to Bristol (or Cheltenham) I could sort you out with a spare for a very reasonable price - I have a steel one and a 16" Nervaste...
