Fuel economy

I'm finding that if i want to drive economically, I can stay under 2000rpm. The engine has so much torque, you can quiet easily be in fifth at 30mph in sixth at 40-45 mph and 2000rpm is about 56mph. I know if I wanted to be really boring, over a longer run, high 30's would be possible. But can't say...

cup chassis

Hi, as far as I know the trophy and F1 versions were originally brought out as special additions here in Europe. Then they decided to offer the chassis as an extra for the normal 225. If you want a more comfortable ride, stick with the sport 225. The cup chassis is obviously much better round the co...

wheels

Hi, wheels are 8Jx18 with 235-40-18's in actual fact I've been trying to get a set of 17" for the winter, but no dealer can get them. Just done another trip to England for Christmas. Car was great as normal, even got rid of an annoying creaking that was driving me mad. Done 900 miles and averaged...

R26 fuses

Contacted Adam, he was very helpfull, but went to a Renault dealer in the end, as I couldn't believe the amount of work needed to replace a fuse. Watched them remove battery, battery holder etc just to get to the fuses. Cost me €105, so I won't be so stupid and use a screwdriver to prise the bulbs ou...

light fuses on F1 team 230 R26

Hi , just fitted new leds from shiny autos, interior looks much better now. Just a small problem that is growing into a large one. I manged to blow a fuse replacing the tail gate number plate lights. Now I have no right handside side light front and rear and no number plate lights. So the question i...

tuning

If you do chip your car, take out insurance to cover your engine. this will cover you instead of your warrenty. With any tuning, you can expect more wear on clutch/gearbox etc. All depends how often you want to drag race. I myself am not to bothered about 0-60 times. Just in gear acceleration on the...

Autobahn racing

Had great fun sofar with my R26 on the Autobahns. Best of all had a 996 carrera 4 last week. out accelerated him from 130kmh to 220 kmh. So he didn't want to know after that. :( In normal everyday driving here in Germany, there's nothing much to fear up to 220Kmh apart from out and out supercars. Th...

R26 keeps amazing

Hi , had my R26 a good few months now, and it amazes me still all the time. On the Autobahns here in Germany you can really use the power with great acceleration between 120-220 kmh, which surprises even the porsche drivers. The older 993 and 996's, boxers and caymens can't stay with the little upsta...

R26 tuning by K-Tec

After speaking to K-tec about possible mods to my R26,I'm very interested to hear from anyone that has already had some tuning done by this company. They said they have done about 20 R26's/ 225 sports. Interested in any mods, chipping, exhaust, air intake, intercooler etc. I've been quoted on having a...

Trip to England

Just done my first trip to England in the R26. No problems, apart from the weather. averaged about 29 mpg over 1800km which is not bad considering the fast driving in Germany, and the stop starting, traffic, ferry etc. Would expect it to get better as it loosens up. Best of all, have 3000km on the cl...
