Re: Engine struggles to start, then violent juddering.

I have been lucky with having no injector faults so far. I bought the car at 80,000 miles. I love my car, I'd vertually try and do anything to keep her on the road as she's my first car. The fuel filter, that was relitivly easy, bumper off, washer bottle out pipes off, pipes on etc. That needed to b...

Re: Engine struggles to start, then violent juddering.

Hello, and thank you for your reply. The millage of my car is 119000 miles. The dash takes a long time to display this after "oil level okay" I replaced all the items myself like as you say, it was a desperation thing. Didn't want to put it to a garage and spend out alot of money for simpl...

Engine struggles to start, then violent juddering.

I own a 2005 Mégane 1.5dci. I am extremely proud of my car and like it running in top condition (which she usually does). My problem: For several months now my engine has been severely struggling to start. After all the stuff I have looked into on this forum and else where following directions from ...

I am also in the north east, but its the north east of Scotland. I would be interested in going to car meets too, but they are few and far between up here.

Re: Radio and Trip meter NOT storing

I had this exact problem. The problem was caused by a corroded fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box. The fuse your looking for is a Blue 15A and it is the one that shows a little picture of a radio. That had corroded in my one and it gave the exact symptoms you described. In your case your fus...

Re: Rear window washer

That's very unusual, my Megane has another turn stalk next to the one for the variable speed, for the rear window. Um, i'm sorry but I don't know how to turn on the rear wiper if there isn't the turn bit on the end of the stalk.

Re: Rear window washer

There is a turn switch on the end of the window wiper stalk, turn once (towards the instrument panel) to switch on rear wiper, turn again and hold to wash rear window. My wiper doesn't switch on when I put it into revere either, I've learned to live with just switching it on manually. Hope this help...

Re: 1.5dci Extreme or Dynamique?

It should/may say on the little sticker inside the drivers door what type of car it is. Mine says it's a "Oasis Sports Tourer", what ever that is. I think the main differences between the models are the extras that are on the car when it was bought.

Re: Undercar Lights

Thanks, it did take a little while and a lot of faffing about to fit them. Although they are illegal to drive with them on, they are a good show piece to show off to your friends when the car is stationary.

Re: What car did you learn to drive in?

I learned to drive in a 1.0 Litre Kia Picanto, it was the driving instructors car. And my 1.5 litre diesel Renault Megane also when I wasn't out with the instructor.

Re: Driver side Indicator light not working

Re: EGR Blanking plate (Megane 1.9 dci 120 2004)

Well I may have been a bit wrong with what I said, the egr valve in a renault dci engine allows the engine to run cooler, therefore the exhaust gasses are cooler, the renault mechanic told me that due to it being unplugged for a very long period of time it would have some effect on the turbo, the lu...

Re: EGR Blanking plate (Megane 1.9 dci 120 2004)

I have a 1.5 DCI. When I bought the car, the previous owner had unplugged the EGR valve and told me it was harmless and did nothing to the engine as it runs fine with it unplugged. When I plugged it back in, for the MOT, it had blasted a piece of carbon down into my turbo and nocked the impeller off...

Re: Painting Centre Console

Thanks all, the process is called Hydro Dipping. I got one of my freinds to do it for me as its kind of a specialist process.
