Engine whine

my megane 1.6 engine on my 2008 megane CC had a whine that increases in volume with engine speed. The AA man said it could be the alternator as he said there was some noise from that. He also said to take of the aux belt and spin the rollers. Well there is one roller and it doesn't make a noise. Do ...

Re: judder in first

This is very bizarre:- The car wouldn't start, not even turn over, this was intermittent, however I called the AA. The AA man said better and alternator was fine. He said that p the car doesn't normally start because the contacts on the starter motor are sometimes loose or corroded. I took the conne...

Re: judder in first

How did you get the clutch done under warranty?

mitachu wrote:Hi.

My CC is a 2006 1.6 with nearly 70k on the clock. The clutch was done under dealer warranty but the timing belt and water pump came to 220 Inc VAT. I had it done at a garage in Long Eaton, Derbys.

Why would it be the coils?

mitachu wrote:My CC tends to judder a fair bit when I pull off in first. Wondering if this is down to the coils perhaps?
Anyone else come across this on theirs?

Re: "Auto" on Climate Control always has slow fan speed - Wh

Ah, well my temperature sensor is working fine. It always shows the correct temperature. Maybe it does take a few mins to sort itself out, but when you change the temperature mid-drive to s significant change, the fan speed doesn't change. Also, my sisters 2002 Clio that also has climate control jus...

Re: "Auto" on Climate Control always has slow fan speed - Wh

I've been experimenting. If the car has been driven for a while and you change the temperature on the climate control to the highest temp or the lowest temp, it doesn't seem to do anything apart from the heat changing, the fan speed always seems to be on medium. If however the car is hot from sittin...

Renault Radio - Poor Signal compared to other cars

I have a Megane CC 2008 with an update list radio. My sister has a Clio 2002 with a tuner list radio. BOTH suffer from really poor radio signal. However other friends and families cars (Mostly Honda) who live in the same hilly area as us seem to get a fantastic signal. How on earth do I fix this, or...

Megane CC 2008 - Aux Input?

I have a Megane CC 2008 and there is no Aux input for the radio. However after research online I found that you can buy a cable with a small green connector and attach this to the side of the small yellow connector on the back of the "Update List" radio and then activate the Aux in the rad...

Megane CC 2008 - Buying and Fitting Parking Sensors

I have a Megane CC 1.6 Dynamique 2008 and I want to fit parking sensors. Has anyone done this? If so, where did you buy them from? I dont want to buy cheap ones off eBay if I have no idea how long they will last. I have seen a set for £15 but they seem too cheap as dealership parking sensors for any...

"Auto" on Climate Control always has slow fan speed - Why?

I have a Megane CC 2008. "Auto" on Climate Control always has slow fan speed regardless of temperature set or temperature outside, even after driving for ages with car at full operating temperature - Why? Even if I put it at the maximum 27 or minimum 15 degrees position the fan speed is st...

Megane CC 1.6 2008 - "Engine Whine"

I have a Megane CC 1.6 2008 and the engine seems to whine all the time. Obviously its most noticeable when pulling away or even sitting still if you rev the engine.

Any idea if these engines just do that or is there an underlying problem?

Re: judder in first

What engine do you have in your Megane CC. Mine is a 1.6 and is a 2008 year. It judders as I pull away if I haven't given it enough revs. Seems to need a lot of revs to get this car going from stand still. I have no idea if the clutch is going or gone though as it doesn't seem to slip at all. How mu...
