Re: getting

OK, so I'm still here and I still have the CC. The noise - that got really painful in the end - turned out to be down to some elements of the front suspension being very rusted indeed. Some to the point where they had almost detached from the subframe. A great local garage that specialises in French...

getting

Well, after just over two years of ownership I have decided to get rid of my 2006 Mk2 CC. Despite me liking the convertible experience and the look of the car, it is just a never ending money pit. So far I have had the following done. Clutch 200 Timing belt 200 Engine coolant sensor 50 Four new tyre...

Re: Scary noises

Thanks for the reply mate.

I parked it up last night and did a full lock left to right but couldn't hear anything. But "creaking/grating" is a good description of the noise that I have.

I'm going to get it looked at by my man again. He did mention strut tops.

Scary noises

My CC has started making what can only be described as a "scary noise" when turning, braking or pulling off. The noise sounds metallic, and is a combination of cracking, ticking or crunching. The car passed its MOT in January without a problem. I took it back to the chap that serviced it (...

Re: Retro fit auto dimming mirror

Did you manage to do this?

My rear view mirror is cracked and I want to replace it. I figure I may as well fit an auto dimming one if they're compatible.
Just wondering how to get the existing mirror off so I can see if the wires are there.
Does anyone know how this is done?

MP3 CDs

Soon after I bought my CC I found an article on the interweb that said that the CD player could read MP3 CDs. I duly tried this by banging a few tracks on a CD and ..... it worked! However, every time I've tried it ever since the CD has not been able to be read. Does anyone know whether there's any ...

Re: my cc

I've had it all too. Hairdresser this, French car that. To be fair, it has been a bit of a money pit with a good number of things going wrong but I drove it 90 miles in the sunshine from the east coast to the midlands yesterday early evening with the roof down and the tunes on. Life was good.

booming....!

New month, new problem. I thought this was just a chav with his stereo bass turned up a few cars away but after hearing it every day, turns out it's me. For some reason, my muggy seems to have started making a low booming noise sometimes. It seems to happen at low speeds, even really low speeds like...

Re: Arch guard

If you are talking about the inner arch plastic thing then I replaced mine with a part from eBay.
Didn't seem to be anything special.

bumpy

This is a prob I have had since I got the car. Basically the ride feels bumpy, especially at around 2500 revs. It is one of those things that is quite hard to describe so I won't waffle on... But has anyone any experience of what I mean? She's due for a service soon so I suppose something might crop...
