Re: use of TDC locking tool question
I've just done a cambelt last week on my 1.5dci, so different lump. My tdc mark on the crankshaft points to 12 o'clock when locked against the screw-in locking pin, as stated in the workshop manual. I rotated the crankshaft to 11 o'clock, fitted the crank pin and then rotate to 12 where it stops. Th...

Re: Air Con problem wit Megane II 1.5 dci 07 plate
I'm afraid I can't help too much but I have the exact same issue. 1.5 DCI 2005 Megane, pressing the AC lights it up but doesn't do anything else. Im pretty sure its a compressor problem but someone with better knowledge may be more clued up! I had mine re-gassed at Kwik-Fit as it was £50 but they ha...

Engine squeal/squeak noises?
My 2nd post today with another issue, my Megane seems to like speaking now and its driving me mad. It's a 2005 1.5 Dci86 K9K, 164,000 miles. Just fitted a new cambelt, tensioner & alternator belt as a nut had found its way into the cover and chewed the belt up, lucky escape there! Assumed this r...

JR5 Gearbox issues!!
I've had some major headaches over the past few months with Gearbox issues. I won't go over all the boring details but to cut a long story short, my K9K 1.5Dci 86 Megane with 164k on now has a new/reconditioned JR5-108 Gearbox. It is filled with 75w80 Elf Tranself NFJ as recommended, but isn't as sl...

Re: Megane 1.5dCi Sticking in 1st gear
I hate to be the one 'reviving' an old thread, but just wanted to say thanks for the advice above. I had the exact same problem, and deduced that the clutch was not fully disengaging. Since the pedal was very high & heavy anyway, I've just had a new clutch & concentric slave fitted, and now ...

Re: Double din help!
its not a halfords jobbie i'm afraid, takes a hacksaw/ cutoff tool & a file to get the fascia to fit. A bit of a pain but can be done to a good standard in a couple of hours, taking your time. Between the two DIN's (Stereo op, CD Changer bottom on yours) there's a piece of plastic that needs to ...

Re: Megane 2 2007 stock stereo sub installation.
Hi mate, yes that's the right part that you need :-) There will be 4 wires coming out of it, + - left and + - right. Each wire needs connecting to the corresponding wire in the car off the back speakers. So + left and - left need to be connected to the rear left speaker or speaker wires, and the sam...

Re: Can anybody suggest a good Double Din Radio with Sat Nav
Not sure if you've ordered one yet but I've got a Chinese one made by Eonon, bought it on eBay about 2 years ago for around £180-200, it has sat nav built in on an SD card, uses iGo8 software and its always been amazing. I'm self employed and drive to customers houses every day using my sat nav and ...

OK no problem, let us know how you get on
Did you use scotch locks to connect the wires? These can be troublesome when used as a permanent connection

That's what I did mate, came in at them from the top. I think the sidelight bulbs are actually a bit harder because they're so fiddly to get a hold on

Re: Heavy/Stiff Clutch Pedal
Forgot to mention, ill monitor my brake fluid and change it when I can as I'm unsure of when it was last changed. So far, I've not noticed any leaks or fluid usage with the car at all, so hopefully that's good news with regards to the Master Cylinder, and if the Slave Cylinder was leaking then I'd p...

Re: Heavy/Stiff Clutch Pedal
Thanks for the advice guys, I'm not going to start stripping the car down for the sake of a slightly heavier clutch than I'm used to with other cars, it is perfectly driveable and has been this way since I bought it. Since then, I've done 3500 miles and its not getting any worse at all, it doesn't s...

Re: 2 x headlamp bulbs replaced in 15 minutes
I've just fitted LED sidelights as the light output is not measured during an MoT so anything within reason will pass, but with dipped & main beam that's another matter. You CAN buy LED headlight bulbs but I think they are for show use only, I don't think the light output & beam pattern woul...
