Re: Sluggish 1.5 Dci?

Depends what you are used to? I've got the 60 odd BHP model in Megane Estate, coming from a 2.0DTI mk4 Astra this doesn't feel any slower at all. In fact, considering the size of the car, the loads it sometimes has to pull around and the size of the engine I am pleasantly surprised at the spring in ...

Re: Headlight connector burned out

I cant do the bulbs myself so I get halfords to do them, its not worth the aggravation for me! My passenger bulb had exploded (bits of glass cut his finger  ) and the connector burned. He replaced the bulb for me with a Halfords one and since then (3 months now) it's been fine, no repeat, and...

Wiper Blade fitment size?

I've bought some blades of eBay that have 7mm bayonet fitting but can't seem to get the buggers on. I've tried measuring it with a tape measure and it looks like it's 7mm or are my eyes playing up :banghead

Re: Vibrating Cabin and moving gearstick?

Shouldnt be a wheel balance issue, had 4 tyres about a month or so ago and only done x00 miles since. Also wouldnt explain it at stand still  I'm not particularly bothered about it, but when it next goes to my mechanic for something (due an oil change in the new year) I'll get him to look at t...

Re: ghost in the machine...

If you replace with ebay parts usually the double lock windows up feature wont be included. This isnt an issue for me, in fact its better because then I can leave a crack open for the dog :)

Re: Various Electrical Problems!

Argh, typical, as soon as I post this I googled some more and found which fuse to try, the first 15 blue one in the glovebox. I swapped it with the one below it and now the washers are working again :D I'll leave this thread here in case more intrepid googlers discover it However, it would still be ...

Vibrating Cabin and moving gearstick?

Hi, 1.5Dci 56 plate. When idle, cold and warm (sometimes it doesnt do it at all) the cabin will vibrate quite violently (bearing in mind I'm used to driving an old Astra diesel which didnt vibrate at all). If I touch the accelerator it goes away. What's this issue? I've read a few things but most po...

Various Electrical Problems!

Only had this car a few months but I'm fast considering chopping it in... A week ago washers were working fine, I know this because I did a long drive and had to fill the screenwash up before setting off home (it hadnt got to the bottom). Now, a week later, they arent working. No noise from the moto...

Re: Window noise

From when I had the door cards off to replace my regulators there was plenty of room in the passenger door for nothing to catch, if anything I would expect things to catch in the drivers side as there's a few more wires in that door. I would say maybe they havent screwed the motor back to the door p...

Re: New Owner - niggles to fix!

 Sorry to waste time on the bonnet, it's very embarrassing, I was pulling the steering column adjuster lever  I only realised on a random google search trying to pull up results for broken bonnet catches only to realise I wasnt even trying to undo the bonnet properly. With it being such ...

Re: New Owner - niggles to fix!

Fair enough, like I say not really bothered about the lights, what I am concerned about is not being able to open the bonnet or get the front windows down, any ideas? I've got tomorrow to tackle the bonnet but busy on Sunday

New Owner - niggles to fix!

Hello all, New here, I just bought a 56 plate 1.5dci estate at auction (more fool me ;) ). Made sense to get an estate as my wife is self employed and has to lug big boxes of stuff round and we have a dog with his crate and a baby on the way. Busy times! The immediate issues I have identified with m...
