Re: check injection warning light and engine become sluggish
AlexB, well pointend out for the removal in a warm engine, it does make it easier, but only install in a cool engine. That's what the torque settings are set in. As for anti seizure compounds on threads, as long as its a small amount on the threads only it is good practice, improves sealing and make...

Re: check injection warning light and engine become sluggish
Get hold of a volt meter, 10mm socket + ratchet. The engine does not need to be running or ignition on for the test. Take off the rocker cover-cover (lol) if fitted by removing the 2x 10mm bolts and unclip the black connector. You should see the glow plug connectors (long black protective hose with ...

Re: Megane 2005 1.5 dci intermittent cut out
have you checked the connections on the inlet side? mass airflow sensor getting a little damp and shorting out may possibly cause intermittent problems.

Re: cut out after start up
has there ever been any fuel contamination in the past? Fuel pump would be a common factor in all that, but checking the fuel sedimenter/agglomerator would be a great place to start. Unscrew the little valve at the bottom of the fuel filter, if clean fuel comes out good, if crap comes out it's a goo...

when the engine is stopping, does it sound like the rattle gets worse? how loud is the whirring and does it rise with engine revs and remain even if the clutch is depressed?

Re: Megane 2 1.9dCi oil leak
A small amount of oil is to be expected in older diesels but it is worth keeping an eye on. If the turbo seal starts to go and kicks oil in to the inlet side it can cause a runaway. This happened on a friends resulting in a dead turbo and a lack of power ever since. a good way to combat it is to ens...

Re: cut out after start up
The chances of all 4 injectors going belly up at the same time are massively high. If they have, hell, get your lottery numbers in. I work mainly with diesel engines but a petrol runs on the same principle. By the sound of it the throttle body may be gunked up (as mentioned previously) or possibly t...

Re: Knocking when steering
I have the same problem, knocking at low speed when turning near full lock and a slight knocking when accelerating from low speed (can hear sound reflected from driving alongside wall's/fences) I'm pretty sure it's the CV joints and I have ordered replacements. I'll be replacing them in a couple of ...

Interior door grab handle renovation.
I recently picked up a 05 Renault Megane 1.9 Dci Convertible. The Interior door grab handles are factory coated in a type of rubberised paint and this is badly flaking. When I looked at a few Megane's I noticed they pretty much all suffered from this and although it doesn't hamper the effectiveness ...

I thought it was 9k, 18k seemed pretty long.
After a little digging I found the Petrols are at 18k and many seem to believe the Diesels are the same.
