Useless headlights - help.
I fitted Osram Nightbreakers. To say that the difference was awesome would be an understatement. They were fantastic . . . . . . BUT ONLY ON MAIN BEAM, WHICH ABSOLUTELY LIGHT UP THE COUNTRYSIDE.. However, the normal headlights were completely and utterly useless, and that's with upgraded bulbs!!! Mi...

Refurbishing my wheels
Hi All, Am going to get my wheels refurbished, but cannot afford to lose the car for a few days. So, the only solution I can think of, is to do one wheel at a time, which means I need one wheel and tyre to swap with the wheel that I'm having refurbished. The tyres on my car are 225/40ZR18 92W, so I...

Re: 2nd to 3rd gear problem
Perhaps I also need to add that this problem only occurs under HARD acceleration. I CAN change from 2nd to 3rd gear normally with no problem. Thanks.

2nd to 3rd gear problem
Hi All, I know this has been talked about before, but I cannot find the links, and cannot remember any resolutions to the problem. When you drive a performance car, inevitably there are times that the right foot needs to decend forcibly to encourage maximum acceleration. I have no problem from 1st ...

Re: Front panels
Ah, thanks freelander, your second link which I didn't notice first time, may have the answer. I'll give it a look when I stand a chance of not being blown into the English Channel. Thanks again

Re: Front panels
Great, thanks for that. The only problem is that that panel is not from a Renaultsport Megane, which may of course, have different lugs. I already know it has two lugs on top and three on the bottom, with the possibility that there are more on the sides that protrude from the vehicle rather than th...

Re: Front panels
Actually, your little picture that accompanies your post, shows them very nicely. Each side of the Renault logo, and between it and the light clusters. Very prominently displayed on your picture.

Re: Front panels
Well, I tried the plastic panel in front of the engine bay. No chance. It revealed a metal panel with all sorts of bolts connected to God knows what. So, the only way is from the front. Maybe you know someone who might know what's going on behind these panels? I went to Renault, and their computer ...

Re: Megane 225 cup remap stage 1
Ditch finder - - haha - - perhaps take my point? Cars don't find ditches - - drivers do. As to a remap, the problem with the 225 is the lack of a LSD, so while you can get more power via whatever method, it's getting it down on the road without smoking the tyres. This is where a skilled remap cater...

Front panels
Hi All, The two panels I'm talking about are either side of the Renault logo on the front of the car. On my car they are black plastic grids, quite robust and about 1 centimetre deep, perhaps a bit more. Does anyone know how to remove these panels? I am hoping that I may get a penknife around the e...

Re: knocking at front, anyone got an idea???
Well, I've now had the nearside anti roll bar link replaced, and the offside ball joint link. Yes, it's quieter, but the slow speed knocking is still there. My local mechanics cannot find anything wrong at all, so it's still a mystery.

Re: knocking at front, anyone got an idea???
I had similar. Knocking/tapping, especially noticeable over smaller bumps at slower speeds. I've been told it is the offside anti roll bar link, whatever that is. I expect I will get it changed soon.
