Thank you all for your responses, as soon as i get a dry day to investigate (always seems to be raining when I get 5mins for a butchers...) i'll let you know the outcome. I think it most likely the same as davelowe's as no sign of water ANYWHERE except in the well!?

Has anybody else experienced a pool of water in the well under the spare wheel? Got a 3dr sport hatch 04.... any suggestions, it keeps re-appearing!? Also, my hadbrake seems real pig to take off... is that a common problem? Only collected car last week, took out 1 yr warranty as out of manufactures....
