Update, mine kicked in this morning while sat in traffic.

There was a bit of smoke but my S3 didn't pick it up that well & it's having oil changed at this very moment.

Mine doesn't have the sensor & the first position on the wiper stalk is intermittent. My 1.2 Clio Dynamique had both & the auto wipers & lights never worked properly so I don't miss them.

On a very warm day & sitting in traffic mine doesn't come on either, the only time i've seen & not heard the fan is when the aircon is on & I can't hear it because it runs very slow.

I also have a 1.5 dci 106 Dynamique S, mine hasn't got the auto lights but still has the button at the end of the light stalk, I thought auto lights & wipers were standard on Dynamiques but I guess I was wrong as mine as neither.

The odd time I cold start it there's a cloud of white with a hint of blue smoke from the exhaust along with a diesely oily smell, it's been over ten years since I owned a diesel car(Citroen ZX 1.9) & i'm not really "up" on diesels, I know black smoke is normal when accelerating & b...
