Re: Diesel Fuel Filter

Thanks Lee, all sorted now, fuel consumption is going down again & the MPG up which is a good thing. Just got to get this vibration sorted out now, need to get to the gearbox mounting to see if that's the culprit.

Re: Where is the fuel filter??

Sorry I cannot confirm in the 2L but in my 1.9DCi it's in the wheel arch above the liner behind the offside headlight.

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter

Its an easy job to do. Did it on my megane 1.9 dci cabriolet. The filter housing itself is infront of the right front wheel. (just take of the liner to get to it ), Has a screw ontop just undo that and its very easy to open . As for the hand primer . You must remove the plastic next to the radiator...

Re: Injector Fault??

Cheers Alex, I'll have a look this weekend, intend to do a service, oil, filters etc, this has all started happening since it went just past the service interval, did wonder if it was Renault had programmed the ECU on purpose :)

Injector Fault??

When I get to a junction the engine does not run smooth, if it was a petrol i would say that a spark plug or lead it faulty, but being a 1.9DCi it's not that. Rest of the time it pulls really well, but the fuel consumption has gone from 55 to 44mpg, is it likely to be a sticking injector & how e...

Re: Knocking Front Suspension

Thanks for the responses guys, it does sound very similar to the knock which I had on the rear of the MR2 when the strut top went, on the engine mount, I would have thought if I put it in gear with the handbrake on & the released & dipped the clutch I would have heard it, anyone confirm? Ala...

Knocking Front Suspension

Guys, Any help would be appreciated It's a 2005 1.9DCi Dymonique (or however you spell it) 70K It has quite a bad knock on the front, it appears to be a very metal to metal solid knock, possibly more on the passenger side (left as sat in car) I can make it happen at will if I roll forward gently &am...

Re: Bleeding Clutch

Just to complete this off, gave up in the end & put the car into a garage, no fun taking a gearbox off on the drive (used to do it but getting too old) anyway apparently the clutch had been fitted the wrong way round, killing the flywheel, new clutch & slave cylinder, so I'm now £800 poorer....

Towbar Fitting

Got a genuine Renault towbar for the Megane, to say the instructions are a little scarce is probably complementary.

I can't find the holes in the chassis for the rear mountings, has anybody else fitted one, a search didn't bring anything up.

Re: Bleeding Clutch

I persevered last night, I ended up with a Gunston ezi-bleed on the master cylinder & a Sealey vacum bleeder on a piece of pipe off the bleed nipple, we bled the same litre of fluid through the system 4 times & finally ended up with a good pedal. But there is good news & bad news I've ju...

Re: Bleeding Clutch

Okay I'm running out of ideas, I've put a new M/C on, we bleed from reservoir to M/C then connected pipe & ezi-bled from reservoir to connection on top of slave. We pushed nearly a litre of fluid through both letting it run through & pumping the pedal as it was pushing through. But we still ...

Re: Elec window drops 2 inch at top

Might be completely wrong on this so bear with me, I have a Laguna which has the wire lifters that go through the regulators, the wires then start to fray & jam up the regulator. If you take off the door card you will see this. I tried one of the repair kits, which broke on the 2nd time of use, ...

Re: Bleeding Clutch

Thanks Alex, I looked at those but the date on the one I was looking at was 2002, this car is 2005 are they the same? Spent a bit of time tonight having a go & got A LOT of air out of the system, but it feels like the MC might be goosed.

Bleeding Clutch

Friend has just had his clutch changed but now has no clutch pedal, had a quick look last night & I think the reason was the pipe hadn't been put on correctly. Am I right in assuming that the piece with 3 circlips in, you pull up the one closest to the flywheel pull the sleeve back slightly, ble...
