Re: Heater control illumination

Well I managed to solve all my meganes problems by trading it in for a Kia pro_cee'd 2.0 crdi sport with a 7year warranty at the beginning of the year. I did like the megane but it was out of warranty and still going wrong just as often as it was whilst it was still under warranty so it had to go be...

Re: Fan heater not working on position 4

Please post back how you get on with this problem as my 54 plate Meg has just developed the exact same fault - fan no longer works on setting 4.

Re: Toxic Fumes Warning Light

Yeah a new Cam Sensor was the cure on my 1.6 when the toxic warning light came on and stayed on permanently.

Re: Toxic Fumes Warning Light

I think if I were in your position I would take it to another renault dealer or ring renault uk and explain the situation to them. I can understand your frustration only too well and like you I would want the problem solved as soon as possible.

Re: 225 stock exhaust under 1.6 16V

And just for comparison heres the lovely new tone of my 1.6vvt after a complete exhaust replacement at Kwik Fit including a new cat..

Here

I have no clue how they made it sound so nice but the part numbers on the invoice are SPECAT-ECRN155 (cat) RE610 (center) RE633 (tail)

I like it 8-)

Re: Toxic Fumes Warning Light

That error code P0300+ indicates (I think) random misfires accross multiple cylinders. There could be numerous causes for it as far as I can tell (google helped me on this one so I could be completely wrong) - possibly lean fuel caused by a vacuum leak in the manifold or unmetered air getting in pas...

Re: Toxic Fumes Warning Light

Any advice anyone? It has since been to Renault again - and guess what, they can't find any faults. Today it has done it again. Is this likely to be coils? Thanks. If a coil had failed I think you would definitely know it, the car would basically be running on 3 cylinders and be as lumpy as hell. I...

Re: Battery change 1.6vvt

Thats the problem, some of them say its an 027 and some say its an 063 - I'd rather not buy one and have to take it back again if its wrong. Also if I knew which type it was I could probably pick up a better quality one cheaper online. :D

Re: Battery change 1.6vvt

Did you find your answer because I too need a new battery for my 54 reg 1.6vvt but am confused about which battery I need, some sites list the battery as a type 063 and others list it as an 027. From what I can tell the 027 is the more powerfull of the two however i don't want to buy it if it's not ...

the CLIP is the renault dealer's Diagnostic machine. As far as i know there isn't a way to self diagnose like you can on a lot of older cars. You can read the codes yourself given the correct cable and a laptop, the cable is an ISO eobd/obd2 intefrace cable and can be found in abundance on ebay or ...

Any idea whats wrong? - Yes, your dealer!

It's an obvious fault - if the lights stay on they can hardly say they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they should bloody well fix it. Don't take any crap off them, leave the car with them until it's fixed and take one of their courtesy cars.

I suspect that the sensor is on it's way out to be honest. Problem now is that the lights off so its that much harder to prove to the dealers :?

I do have a theory as to why there are so many complaints towards the cars is that if owners disconnect the battery and reconnecting without following a certain procedure as explained in the Haynes workshop manual then that can explain some of the troubles. For those of us that don't have the manua...
