Re: Coil not quite broken
It's had a new lambda sensor recently.Wouldn't this sort of thing show up in a diagnostic check?

Coil not quite broken
My son's Megane has a low tickover. We've changed the throttle body and nothing else shows up on a diagnostic. He's previously had a coil fail( no3 ).I wondered whether another could be on the verge of giving up.A local mechanic said it wasn't likely as it doesn't misfire when revved.I've also read th...

Early car, late throttle body.
My son's car ( 53 reg 1,4 16v) has flagged up a throttle fault;erratic idle, lack of power, you all know the score.I've located a used body from a specialist Renault scrap yard but it's of the later type with the egg shaped " box of tricks" on the side. Will this work on his car.His has the...

Re: 'Check Injection' Message
Is it safe to assume then, that even though all this started after the battery was disconnected, the procedure for resetting in Haynes manual is pointless? Also, I know someone with a diagnostic computer but will it show the fault even when it's not actively affecting the car?

Re: 'Check Injection' Message
This is Tom's dad;I'd like to point out that immediately after calibration we went for a 13 mile run and everything was fine. Two days later it goes from fine to cack back to fine again. Is there any merit in calibrating again? We left the battery disconnected for an hour. Was that enough or too long?D...

Reverse light switch
I've been tasked with "helping" my son replace a duff switch. You all know what that really means!Anyway we've located the switch.Bought the new one.I've got the correct spanner, jack etc. But,I can't for the life of me figure out how to detatch the wiring from the old switch.I've squeezed a...
