Re: FIXED Megane MkII Headlamp Bulb Removal
Thanks Steve, I managed to do it. Mine was the MkII phase 2 push in type. The method I used was as follows :- Open bonnet. Unclip washer bottle filler unit and disconnect from pipe. Place aside. Reach through gap and remove cover cap (quarter turn). Remove connector. Bulb may come out with the conne...

Re: Megane MkII Headlamp Bulb Removal
Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your quick response to my post. Yes it is phase 2.
So if I remove the connector, do I just use some pliers on the terminals to pull the bulb straight out? Any further information you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

Megane MkII Headlamp Bulb Removal
Hello, I need to replace the H7 headlamp bulb (o/s light). I can access the bulb, but am unable to remove it. There doesn't appear to be the normal wire cage, so how is it held in place? I don't want to apply too much force in case I break the light unit. Hope someone can offer a solution, I don't l...

Re: Cambelt and Dephaser Replacement Guide
Hi Mick, Having read your excellent advice for this post and your comments on another one, I believe you work in the "trade". Where are you based and what is the approx charge for a cambelt and water pump change? I have a 2008 1.6 VVT which has done 11k miles and is due to have this work d...

Re: autobox is a bit jerky in 2nd gear .1.6 dymonique
Is this only just after start up? I've had a few autos over the years and each has tended to snatch when changing up from 1st to 2nd. After a couple of miles and half a dozen changes then all is okay. I put this down to the gearbox oil being cold. Try running it in manual and see if this makes any d...

Re: Sump plug location?
If they are only charging you £40 then they may not be using fully synthetic oil and/or oil to Renault spec. Also they will probably be using the "quick" shortcut method of sucking the oil out via the dip stick hole. Believe me it is very easy to do yourself, you just need to identify the ...

Re: Sump plug location?
I changed the engine oil on my 1.6 VVT a few weeks ago. The sump tray is held on my 7 bolts and I think I used a 10mm socket. You can also use a star socket if you can get hold of one - don't know the size though. I used an 8mm square male socket for the sump plug. Hope this helps.

Re: Temperature on Dash Display
Have a look at the sensor on the driver's door mirror, it's the little bulge on the underside. It could be a bad connection or faulty sensor.

I'd take it to KwikFit or somewhere, they will be able to tell you for certain with the car on the ramp and give you a quote at the same time.

Could you have bought a dodgy pack of batteries? May be worth trying a different make (Duracell are very good) from a different source.

There should be a sticker by the lock on the passenger door which gives details of the tyre pressures.

Not seen this before but my guess is that you have 9 litres of fuel left and 9.7 miles until you start using the reserve.

Re: Weird Wipers???
This is normal operation, when in continuous mode (not intermittant) they only wipe when the vehicle is moving. It is explained clearly in the manual.
