Re: Plastic sounding clicking from steering wheel

I believe this was quite a common problem on this era of Megane...

I had the same problem, and yes it was the airbag rotary connector.

The airbag rotary connector is also known as the clock spring.

Re: Megane gone (as well)

hello everyone! Thought I'd stop by to say hello... I still have the Auris - 112,000 miles and 10 years old. - Passed every MOT - Still on original battery (how I have no idea....) - Nothing major has gone wrong (apart from my previous posts!) My Megane at 7 years old 130k vs Auris at 10 years old 1...

Re: Access to washer pump

I managed to change my washer pump via the drivers side wheel arch. It was easier than expected - if anyone else needs to change theirs - give this a try first before removing the bumper.

Re: Megane gone (as well)

I definitely agree Alex! - I certainly did not expect this with a Toyota. Re: driveshaft - from memory, I think they rounded off a nut? This was my local dealer of whom I no longer use. They were ok at best. In 2012 a relative bought a 10 year old Mazda 323 1.5 - I had a drive / experience of it and...

Re: Megane gone (as well)

for anyone who is interested - a little update on the Auris 2.2 180 I have. I bought it in Jan 11, it was registered in July 2007. It had 38,000miles on the clock - it now has 77,000miles. In no specific order i've had the following replaced under warranty and the toyota extended warranty (which I r...

Re: Scenic Dashboard Fault

Is this the Scenic II 2003-2009 model with the digital dash? If the initial failure was, as you mentioned that it completely failed... I'm sure Renault are aware of this problem and it was featured on watchdog a few years ago - if so, I'm sure Renault agreed to replace this for a fixed price (I'm su...

Re: AA BRC COVER

Breakdown Repair Cover. Yes my local Renault Dealer did all the admin work to claim the full £500 towards a new starter motor/flywheel and clutch. AA accepted the claim, at 125,000 miles/ 6 years.

Re: MEGANE HEADLAMP BULB CLIP MISSING!

I believe that the facelift post 2007 Megane with projector style headlights do without the clip and are indeed push fit only.

Re: megane 1.5 dci lack of power and white smoke

What is ad blue?

Renault FAP don't use any fluids at all, unless the newest 1.6dCi engine does, I'm not sure.

Re: megane 1.5 dci lack of power and white smoke

Renaults FAPs don't use that fluid what Peugeot Citroen use, the system is different.

As your 1.5dCi is 2003, if you're in the UK then your car won't have a FAP (french for DPF).

Re: funny noise when starting, (like a whine)

If it's a drilling sound/blender noise... that get's faster and higher pitched yes?

Starter isn't engaging on the flywheel. One day or another you'll get a screech instead of a whine... that'll be when it's half engaged on the flywheel.

Re: Lack of answers to questions and posts

I've been a part of this forum for nearly 7 years now, and yes I agree it has definitely changed! All the best Ray, if I actually still had my Megane, I'd be interested in becoming a mod, but I sold it 9 months ago now, but I still lurk around here from time to time! :)

the noise on the video isn't the same noise what webcode is describing, as others have said it sounds like the top strut mounts..

Re: Not reaching max speed

the second stage of the accelerator pedal is normal. It is to overcome the speed limiter once it's set. (Providing you have cruise control/speed limiter).

(A relative had a 2004 Scenic II with the two stage accelerator but no speed limiter so it's possible)

Re: air con advise?

I would advise against this, as when one sprays WD40, it naturally goes all over - any type of oil will cause the rubber accessory belt to perish. If extreme came to extremes and the belt did perish and snap, it would most likely cause the timing belt to snap too = £££££
