Re: adjusting the clutch

Hi mate, what a bummer, at the first mention of your pedal on the floor i would have been looking at your slave cylinder, what happens is the fluid slowly drips out overnight causing a vacumn behind it which draws the master cylinder down to the floor, then when you lift it up from the floor it refi...

Re: adjusting the clutch

Hi mate, there is no adjustment on the clutch as it is hydraulicly operated, the release bearing/slave cylinder is spring loaded to keep it in contact with the clutch so in effect this is the auto adjustment. sounds like your clutch is getting to the end of its lifespan.

Re: Massive Oil Leak

Hi again, oil in the water doesnt mean its the head gasket, as the oil runs at a higher presure than the water it will be forced from oil into water rather than the other way round, like i said in my prev post, there are oilways and waterways on the thermostat end of the head and thermostat housings...

Hi mate, it will beep for a period untill it then flashes either four zero's or four lines to enter the code. (i'm assuming that as you bought it new then you were given the code, if not on the side where the part number is you will see a box with four digits in it, letters and numbers, take this st...

Re: Quick Question :)

Hi mate, it used to be common place in the 80's on rally cars etc as the graphic used to come off quite easily or they were painted on by a proper sign writer but current graphics are printed on whats normaly refered to as "7 year graphics vinyl" which does as it says on the tin. If you wa...

Re: 55 plate Megane 1.6VVT dymanmique

Hi mate, if it's accompanied by a rattling noise that sounds a bit like your starter motor sticking, then it sounds like the dreaded dephaser playing up, it will need replacing. As your car is just over 5 years old its due for a cambelt change so you could do them both together

Re: 2004 1.6 16v Crankshaft Fault Code Help P0340

Hi mate, you will need to fix the dephaser problem as you will keep getting this fault as long as the dephaser is faulty, what is happenin is that the inj comp is having conflicting info in relation to crank and cam positions, i.e. because the computer reads crank position and because it powers the ...

Re: Electrical fault..

Hi mate, you would be correct on saying its water ingress, but its in the UPC (Ecu controls the engine injection upc controls all other things in the car) which is under the bonnet under the cover with the fuses in. you might be able to tale it off and dry it out but sometimes it can be fried

Re: 07 Megane II drivers window.

Hi mate, more than likely to be water in the wiring loom, because the windows have a permenant live feed (for dead locking, pressing your lock button on keycard twice quickly will close the windows and sunroof if you have one) when you get water in the loom it causes a path to earth which then power...

Re: Massive Oil Leak

Hi mate, It could be the thermostat housing as this is quite common as their are oilways and waterways on the end of the cylinder head, and as the thermostat housing is plastic and deforms with the heat and causes it to leak. head gaskets arn't very common.

Hi mate, could be a couple of things, does the engine have a misfire, if a coil goes down and it developes a misfire it will go into fault mode in 3rd. another possibility could be the evm valve or hydraulic distributor but thats not a diy job as you need to drain the oil and remove the front cover ...

Hi mate, new cars all have daytime running lights now, new euro regs coming in this year. You can turn them off if you press the adac button (on the end of the wiper stalk) untill you get to the settings menu, then hold it in untill it takes you into the menu, scroll through untill you get to daytim...

Re: Where can I get diesel injector "O" rings?

Hi again, i've not got one at hand to measure but it would be around 6mm outside dia with approx thickness of 1mm, and colour coded green, but i would try customer services on 08000 72 33 72 and also don't let them say "we'll call you back", as they play the waiting game knowing that you n...

Re: massive leak, please help

Hi, You say that its screenwash, that seems strange as the washer bottle is on the drivers side and the pipework for the rear one goes down the driver side. If your car has a sunroof its sound more like the sunroof drains which can become partialy blocked with leaves and bits and then drain out a fe...
