Re: Boot switch/catch problem!

Just to finish this one off, turned out it was the loom bundle between the boot and the body, up in the left hand corner. I pulled one wire and it came all the way out the rubber sheath, then another one, and another, and another ... Decided to cut the said sheath off and repair all broken wires. Ha...

Boot switch/catch problem!

Hi I have the common boot locking/unlocking problem. But I am stumped. For the past six months I was having difficulty getting the boot to shut - I would either have to bang it hard or alternatively press the switch before shutting it. But last week I found I couldn't open the boot at all. When I pr...

Re: ABS problem - any pointers really appreciated

Just to clear up a bit of confusion, the speedo hadn't dropped to 0, it was working fine. A few months back it wobbled after five mins of driving, then the ABS light came on, and then the speedo returned to working normally. Since August though teh ABS light has been on permanently and the speedo wo...

Re: ABS problem - any pointers really appreciated

Thanks for all the advice. Just to square this one off it turned out to be the cable of the offside ABS sensor. The wheel had been rubbing against it and worn right through the centre of the wire. New sensor plugged in - all working again. The sensor cost £25 from Renault (cheaper than the scrap yar...

Re: ABS problem - any pointers really appreciated

Thanks very much. I think I'll go with my hunch on the broken sensor wire. I'll order one from Renault.

Unless someone thinks otherwise?!

Re: ABS problem - any pointers really appreciated

Hi - I've looked at the Manuals and Technical notes sticky, but from what I can see there is only a pdf relating to ABS fault codes on 4 wheel drives? Should I be looking somewhere else? (Sorry for being slow!) Could anyone else help me? - are the front ABS sensors interchangeable? Does one have a l...

ABS problem - any pointers really appreciated

I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem with the ABS on my Megane estate 1.6 petrol 53 plate. Here's where I'm up to The problem started in August. The speedometer would start to wobble after a few minutes driving and then the ABS and Service lights would come on. Then speedometer would return ...

ABS cable and sensor on Sport Tourer - same as hatchback

Hi everyone Quick question - is the ABS cable and sensor on the front of the Sport Tourer (the estate) the same as on the hatchback? I'm assuming they will be. But perhaps someone knows for certain. Background: My ABS light is on, and a local renault specialist has some used ABS cables off of hatchb...

I'm trying to change the high level brake light. Mine's all corroded inside.

Does anyone know one of the red plastic units off a hatchback will fit a sport tourer (the estate)? Not so many of the estates at the breakers...

Re: Thinking of buying Megane Sport Tourer - any advice?

Thanks for the advice. I'm not necessarily looking for anything that exciting! Just a fair price and something that isn't dodgy! I've looked at some 1.9 diesels but the fuel economy doesn't seem to be hugely better than the 1.6 petrol. Although the 1.5 diesel is said to return 60mpg. But the seem to...
