Re: Bloody french designers

I'll take a look at that shortly. I also took photos before I put things back together so I'll load those up.

Definitely a different installation and multiplex unit so that explains the issues

Re: Bloody french designers

Hi, well I can tell you as I said the fuse box lid is perforated and has to be "broken" the 1st time the lid comes of, a little like the covers over the wiper bolts. Agreed after that it's simple. Now, I would not advise anyone to tackle this without disconnecting the battery, you have tha...

Bloody french designers

The wifes 2007 megane has been a pain in the jacksie blowing headlight bulbs way to often, anyway another went a few weeks ago and when I checked the dipped light connector was loose and had over heated and damaged the plastic, the bulb was fine. So ordered a couple of ceramic connectors from China ...

Re: Possible 1st ever trip to a garage with a problem, ABS

Just for information, when the ABS light comes on, it should clear without having to reset the ecu once the fault has been rectified. I know this because my front passenger side sensor came undone and when refitted, the wheel was only turned slightly with the engine running (during refitting the wh...

Didn't ask Alex, was too grateful, but when I have fitted the new sensor that is now on it's way, I will ask and report back. ;) ;)

Re: Possible 1st ever trip to a garage with a problem, ABS

Thanks Alex again, however I may have the issue resolved now. Good news is, and this reinforces what I've always said about getting a relationship going with a decent non affiliated local garage, inspite of what I have read re the abs not being able to be read from the main ecu, it can be. With ther...

Re: Possible 1st ever trip to a garage with a problem, ABS

Thank you alex, I did wonder if I'd actually fixed the issue and it simply needed resetting, but to be honest I'm at the limit of my experience after a lifetime of motoring practice. I have heard of chip, is this the official renault interrogatory system? or something non franchise outfits use? I'm ...

Possible 1st ever trip to a garage with a problem, ABS

In true miserly tradition, I have yet to take a car to the garage for anything other than the mots. But I'm stumped with this 1 so I may have to admit defeat and cough, :cry Renault megane est, ABD and ESR and ASR warnings lit up. If anyone can sense check this for me I'd appreciate it All wheels re...

Re: steering not good

Mine has developed looseness at 65k miles. Over the last month or so it feels vague, it feels like the wheels are out of balance and it rattles over kerbs and pot holes. Finally got around to jacking the bugger up today and it's both inside track rod ends that are shot, ie, at the point at which the...

Re: Clutch advice... (but not the car start issue!)

I know this is an old post but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I have juist spent 3 days trying to bleed my cars clutch'. As an introduction it's a 55plte 1.5 dci 106 estate. The clutch has been a problem since I bought it at a year old. I've lost count of the number of times the pedal return spring has f...

Re: Dam Renault dealership quality

hy there, im sorry for your poor experience with Renault. What im going to say doesnt go to solve your problem but will put some pressure under the dealer: your new spares mounted at the dealer have an 1 year full warranty, i.e., if you need to go through the 10nd turbo sensor or diesel return pipe...

Dam Renault dealership quality

:hm Ok, after today I just felt I had to post this. It sums up my experience with the local outfit that repaired my car under waranty. I bought a 55plate 1.5 105 estate back in early 2007, 28k on the clock at exactly a year old, the way I like to buy them. This car has been great, is super economica...

Re: renault megane ll cutting out

Well whitey I might just be able to help you there. I bought a 2005 1.6 dynamique last week also. For my daughter. See the post I put up a week ago Same issue as you plus others. Ticked over at only 500 rpm hot or cold, tried to stall when pulling off in 1st either hot or cold. Taking off the thrott...
