Re: Changed Battery - Refuses to start
Cheers for replying chaps. Problem solved. One of the wires for the negative point wasn't connected back on by my Uncle (fool!) :hm Thanks for the PDF Alex, will come in handy that for future reference. Looking at it now you were right about the network it seems, spot on. Off for it's MOT next week ...

Changed Battery - Refuses to start
Hi guys and girls, Slight (well major) problem with my 2004 Megane 1.4. It has unfortunately been stood for a couple of months and the battery died, (it was on it's way out, but standing still for 2 months + heavy snow/cold weather has killed it). Brought and fitted a new battery today, electrics ar...

Re: Steering Rack?
Renault looked at it, agreed it had very slight play, and refused to replace it. I'm sorry, but to me, slight play means its broken, there for covered under warranty??? To be fair, at the time, it did pass the MOT. :| Don't know if steering racks come under the MOT :? probably do, but it came up on...

Steering Rack?
Hi guys and girls, see if i can pick your brains at this one. Its not technically Megane related, but its Scenic related. In Feb this year, mum's Scenic was taken for its Service/MOT. On the report, it stated that the steering rack had 'slight' play in it. The service and MOT were done by a speciali...

Re: mkIII
I actually quite like it, I have seen spy shots of the 3dr having its photo shoot done and it looks a bit more exciting from the front from what I can tell, but Renault are taking a more laidback design route these days towards what they were producing towards the start of the decade i.e. Vel Satis,...

Re: Brake Discs
I have done 38,000 miles in my Megane, and the front discs need to be changed in about 2-3000 miles from its last service report, done by my mates dads Renault specialist garage. Renault said they needed to be changed at 28,000 miles........they werent even half worn! Its the same story with our UK ...

Re: Climate Control
Hi there
Although its a Scenic, we have Climate Control, and the temps do go from 15C - 27C (15C being the coldest, 27C being the hottest). No idea why yours would be reading 0 - 9.5C. I would pop it down to Renault for an explanation

Re: Failed MOT
Jimbo86, Have you checked what grease they used? I bet no and I also bet it was something cheap and nasty... I have no idea :? just let them do the job. Car has done 4500 miles since then and its been fine, with it been serviced during that time and nothing has been reported. In there defence, with...

Re: Failed MOT
When my Megane was in for its starting screw ups, Renault Bolton found my O/S/F CV boot joint clip had broken, £46.13 inc VAT was the cost, part is £1.68
takes about 30 mins to do, and they did admit they have had a few Megane's with the clips breaking

Re: Still having problems!!! 04 1.416v
No worries. I havent a clue how much they will charge, mine was in the garage for 6 hours when they returned to say they had cleaned the throttle body as they were trying to locate the problem as it was not coming up with any errors on the diagnostics. Although mine was 6 hours, my mums was only an ...

Re: Still having problems!!! 04 1.416v
The ECU does adapt to your driving style. Mine does as during the week its constantly stuck in congestion in Manchester, then it gets a blast down the motorway at the weekends to my girlfriends in Birmingham, which puts it back into check. Have Renault cleaned the throttle body?? I had the same prob...

I had the same problem with mine, until Renault cleaned the throttle body and its been fine since *touchwood* WARNING! Renault will try and charge you for cleaning it if its out of warranty! Tried fobbing me off saying 'it was an adjustment and not a replacement so therefore labour needs to be charg...

Sorry to dig this back up from the dead, but I have the exact same situation as 72uoba had. Sometimes it takes upto 6-8 attempts for it to start when warm, and to keep it from stalling, the only way is to keep the revs up at a high rate. Will this be covered under the Reagroup extended warranty?? If...
