Re: NEWBY "CHECK ANTI-POLLUTION" Fault

Hi, Anti pollution message is problematic on all cars so please don't send it off the bridge just yet; the coupe really is good if you can live with a few French quirks. Sounds like you have done a lot of investigating so might no be of much help but; try living with; this message can go after sever...

Re: cambelt change

I have not seen Renaults recommendation but the Haynes manual advises 72000 miles or 6 years whichever is the sooner. Recently was in Halfords autocentre and they gave a quote for a whopping £1050, this was for cambelt + new water pump (recommended when changing cambelt) and replacement coolant. Obv...

Re: Clicking noise from doors + check airbag light

Hi, Not had similar problems but like you have heard wiring and connecter under seat can be at fault. Not sure if the coupe and hatchback are the same but on my coupe; The cable can be seen easily from the passenger or drivers footwell looking under the seat. It comes up from the floorpan to the sea...

Touch up paint

Hi all, In the past have used touch up paint (pens) from Halfords, came in a pack with laquer, primer, wedge shape buffer. Bit pricey but quite a good kit. Colour wasn't perfect but then I have had manufacturers own brand from a dealer and no better. Unfortunately Halfords don't do the Oyster colour m...

Re: Clutch not returning to position / bleeding the clutch

Hi all, the above is an old post by MillerJohn but I finally got round to it and would recommend you do to. Just as Millerjohn found I also found corrosion on this unit. Easy job to protect if it has not yet failed; jack up the front passengers side just enough to get the wheel off the ground so tha...

Re: De-Badging

thanks for that, I had heard of the hairdryer technique but the credit card was new to me and sounds a great tip. Also since looking came across advise to remove foam adhesive remains with tar remover. Still not sure whether to attempt as its in such a prominent area of the car. If it went wrong and...

De-Badging

Hi All, just wondering if anyone has any experience of de-badging. I really like the i-music I have, mainly bought this edition for the alloy wheel style and rear parking sensors. However I don't think the i-music logos do much for the car (on the rear quarter panels). Just wanted to know if anyone ...

Engine management light - orange

Car was running fine until sunday. I had washed the car with a normal household hose (not power washer). The next day the orange engine light came on and the performance changed dramatically. Poor starting, low power, slight stutter, poor acceleration. One day later warning light disappeared and ful...

Re: the coffee cup challenge!

Re: the coffee cup challenge!

I'm stating the obvious but what about the one next to the handbrake. Mine has a removable tub (Renault option I think). When its removed there's a cup size indent. Only problem you may snag it when reaching for the handbrake. I don't drink on the move but when if do have a travel mug for work it go...

Re: Megane cc gt line parking sensors question

Hi Chris, Don’t know about the CC but I have a mk3 2010 i-music coupe. This has factory fitted sensors but no sat nav or multimedia display. The parking sensor settings can be altered from the menu via the buttons on the end of the right hand steering wheel stalk. You go into the settings menu and t...

Why no coupe

Just wondered if anyone had any idea why there appears to be no coupe version of the megane 2016 onwards. Looking on the road the MK3 coupe seems to have sold really well or maybe you just spot them when you own one. The original marketing story of coupes was that despite them making little profit d...

Re: Dreaded "Check Air Bag" - Cured?

hope cleaning the connector has fixed in the long term. The design of seats seems to funnel change into the seat rail and then the design of the rail seems to make sure the change stays in there!!. If the rail had a couple of plastic sliders that may have kept the majority of objects getting in ther...

Fuses - location/layout

Hi all, megane3, I-music 10 plate petrol Recently managed to blow the cigarette lighter outlet fuse with one of those mini tyre inflators which must have been on the end of its 1 month lifespan!!! looked in the owners manual to find a layout of 19 fuses in the glovebox. When I looked in the glovebox...

Re: Panel Gap

Hi Ahmed, delay in answer as not been on site for a while, I found a similar problem when looking to buy a second hand MK3. The panel gap was up to 6mm on one door (door to wing gap) and varied from top to bottom. I went on side of caution and walked away. Panel gap differences can be either a sign ...
