Worst thing about the axial rod is its very awkward to get anything onto it, there is a special tool you can get but I think it's ex...

Re: Passenger Window stuck down :(

Well just swapped the control module on the motor and away she went working 100% again :)

I knew it wasn't the mechanism or motor as it was going up when I deadlocked the car so was going up and down then just packed in!

Re: Mot advisory - slight play in steering rack?

Could be either or both, you'll need to jack the car up and then grab the wheel and check for play, if you can you should be able to see if the track rod end is at fault as it will move. You'll need to put your hand on the axial rod which goes into the steering rack and feel for a click as described...

Re: High oil consumption

Don't drive the car if it has low oil, dip it and confirm how much oil is in there and top up if needed. The droning noise could possibly be a wheel bearing on the way out? Does it hum louder the faster you go?

Would this be due...

Re: MOT failed

Replaced the axial rod and TRE yesterday was handy enough thought it was gonna be a nightmare but managed to get the vice grips on, a few taps and off it came :grin Luckily enough it looks like Renault didn't have any thread lock on it! It didn't feel that bad but when moving side to side there was ...
