Re: Workshop time to change an engine in a Megane 11 hatchback
Yes it is an older car but I figured that if I spent around £700 as my contribution then it would probably be worth continuing with it. Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it.

Workshop time to change an engine in a Megane 11 hatchback
Hi, I wrote recently to the forum requesting assistance when my 1.5 DCI Megane went in for a cambelt change which resulted in a blown engine through the turbo sucking through a large quantity of oil. The garage concerned has, after a lengthy battle, finally admitted liability for the blown engine an...

Re: Turned steering and heard a loud bang!
Hi Ivan,
Just to let you know my problem is the same as yours! The driver's side front coil spring has snapped near the top of the spring. Not sure what would cause this - there does not appear to be a flaw in the metal where it broke off!
Thanks for pointing me in this direction!
Jimones.

Turned steering and heard a loud bang!
Hi, my car is an 05 reg Megane 2 1.4DCI manual hatchback. Just got in to go out and as I turned to leave the drive there was a loud bang. It felt as though it might be either steering or front suspension. When I ride back and forth with the wheel turned, it clicks/bangs in certain positions. It does...

Injector fault on start up
Hi, I have an 05 reg 1.5DCI Megane2 which has had on going starting problems. It takes ages to start ( says "injection fault") then when it starts it runs well with no further issues. I have done the glow plug voltage check and decided to change the glowplugs anyway. That hasn't solved the...

Re: Stubbon starting - diesel engine
Well I have replaced the glow plugs. The main problem was getting a 10mm tube spanner thin enough not to foul on the sides. Sadly my problem still exists. The Haynes manual talks about a control unit situated under the left wheel arch. Do you think this might be the problem?

Re: Stubbon starting - diesel engine
Thanks, Alex for your quick and comprehensive response. I followed the voltage test rather than the ohm test to which you refer so I will do that test as well to confirm the voltage reading. The voltage was virtually zero on each plug, something like 0.01V so I will go ahead with replacing them and ...

Stubbon starting - diesel engine
I have an 05 reg Megane 1.4DCI, reg FG05YSE and am now experiencing hard starting. The engine turns over fine but doesn't start. This can go on for three of four times before it starts. The "check injection" warning comes on. Once the engine starts the car runs fine and to normal speeds wi...

Re: No power on startup and lots of smoke!
Thanks for the reply. It is super rough on startup - in fact you have to rev quite hard to keep it going and it oftens stalls so moving the car at the moment is out of the question. Would the turbo be affected at startup speeds? I will have a look at the injectors tomorrow and follow your suggestion...

No power on startup and lots of smoke!
My Megane 1.5DCI is struggling to start and when it does start there is no power and lots of smoke out the back. If it was a petrol model I would say it was firing on 2 cylinders, that is how it sounds and feels. I have done the glowplug check and there is no drop in voltage. I have removed the EGR ...

Re: No power on take off in first and second gears
I have now a chance to look at the car myself. It does not appear to be a clutch related problem. When it starts from cold, it seems as though it wants to cut out when you depress the accelerator and clouds of black smoke come out of the exhaust. I have checked the glow plugs as advised in the forum...
