I have exactly the same problem with the child lock as the OP. Child lock button on drivers door works for rear o/s door but n/s won't release the child lock. The little red light on the switch also stopped working too.
My car's been like this for months now but would be nice to find a fix for it.

Re: "Check door locks" message and child lock stuck on
*bump*
If i buy a fault code reader, is it likely to tell me what the problem is or are they just for engine faults?
Thanks

"Check door locks" message and child lock stuck on
Hi, My 08 plate megane 5 door has started displaying the check door locks message. I think the fault is being caused by the rear n/s child lock as I can't open this door from inside the car now (it opens fine from outside). If I turn off the child locks using the button on the drivers door, I can he...

Re: Lights on, braking and indicating left
I've been having exactly the same problem on my megane. I tried changing bulbs, reseating bulbs but the problem always came back after about a day. Last thing I tried was spaying some silicone (https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_214714_...

Re: Which oil for 1.5dci 86 08 plate
Thanks for the replies.
I'll go with 5w40. Will it cause any problems mixing oil types - not sure if the garage used 10w40 or 5w40 on the last service?
Cheers
Rob

Which oil for 1.5dci 86 08 plate
Hi, I've checked my oil today and it's a lottle low. (Sometimes the reading on the dashboord shows full, sometimes theres a couple of squares missing - is it not very accurate). Anyway, I'm not sure which oil I should be getting. The care is an 08 plate 1.5dci 86. I think I need 5w40 or 10w40 but no...

Re: iphone 4 and tunepoint
I did have a look on the renault site and there is an update. however, the instructions tell you to go to the tunepoint menu on the stereo - i think they are referring to the stereon in the new renaults, as mine doesn't have a tunepoint menu. The tunepoint is just accessed through the 6 cd changer s...

iphone 4 and tunepoint
Hi, I've got an 08 plate megane tech run with the tunepoint system installed. Does anyone know if it's compatible with the iphone 4. I can get it to kind of work but not fully. Basically, if i start a playlist playing on the iphone before i plug it into the tunepoint, the music plays fine through th...

Re: Strange headlight bulb problem
Thanks very much for the reply.
I'll double check they are lined up properly.
If they are still dim after that, is there anything else that could be causing them to be poor - sometimes on unlit roads, I need to use the fogs or main beam to see where i'm going.
Cheers

Strange headlight bulb problem
Hi, My dipped headlights have been poor on my megane since i bought it in October. I thought i'd change the bulbs this weekend following the guides on here. However, when i tried removing the electrical connector from the back of the bulb, the bulb came with it. There was no clip holding the bulb in...

Servicing question for 1.5dci
Hi, I bought my 08 plate 1.5 dci 86 megane a few month ago. It's now due it's 48,000 mile service. Renault are quoting £230 for this. Does anyone know if this is a full or interim service? From what I can figure out, it's a basic service (fuel, air and oil filter and oil change). If that's all it is...

juddering when setting off and headlight issues
Hi, I bought my megane a few month ago and all is well apart from a couple of smallish problems i've recently noticed. My car is a 1.5dci 86 tech run 5 door hatch, 08 plate with 46000 miles. Firstly, I've noticed that when setting off the front of the car seems to judder unless I am very light on th...
