Re: Goodyear or Michelin
Well, decision made then! If you can get PC2s for that price, there really is no decision in my mind!

Re: Goodyear or Michelin
Totally understand about the cost. I think you can get PC2s at under £90 fully fitted if you shop around (eg. KwikFit have them for about £87 right now if you order online). You might be lucky like I was and just find someone with a special offer on them, which could perhaps get them down to £80. Th...

Re: Goodyear or Michelin
Here's an interesting example of a test that contains your two tyres and the two I mention:

As tyres have to brake in the wet and dry, I'm still happy with my ER300s as the compromise tyre if you believe their findings ...

Re: Goodyear or Michelin
Interesting choice of tyres? Can I ask how you ended up at these two? I recently bought four new tyres and based my choice on the magazine tyre tests (mainly German!) found on tyrereviews website. Based on this, I had the choice of sticking with the factory fitted Conti PC2s or trying the Bridgeston...

Re: Standard Renault Alloy Wheels
Anyone know if the Ozedia and Kubera 16" alloys are interchangable in terms of their fit over the brakes etc? Need new rims and I've seen a new set of four Ozedias for considerably less than the Kuberas and wondered if I could buy the former? Thanks!

Re: Steel rims for 2008 1.5dci Megane 5d Hatchback
Right - so for reference to anyone finding this post in the future - my spare steel rim has written on it: 24A 61561 MEFRO MADE IN FRANCE 04 07 61/2J16H2F E T 49 10063 (371 - written in a hexagon) RE516010 KBA44544 2 OK, this is pretty meaningless to me (apart from it was probably made in April '07 ...

Re: What headlights - Megane GT
PS. Do you know how much Renault charge for changing the Megane lightbulb? It makes a fiver look very cheap!

Re: What headlights - Megane GT
Yes, there was the pride question of course. :-( So I got out the handbook and followed the instructions, including jacking the car and removing the wheel. I then spent about an hour desperately trying to get the old bulb loose, with my hand wedged into a space smaller than a pint glass, where the s...

Re: Steel rims for 2008 1.5dci Megane 5d Hatchback
Thanks Joe. I guess this comes back to my original question - did the dimensions of the 16" steel wheels on the Meg II change at all? Does anyone know this? As I say, mine is one of the very last ones from 2008 so the question is, how far back can I go date wise and be sure I have the correct r...

Re: Steel rims for 2008 1.5dci Megane 5d Hatchback
Thanks for replying. To be honest, I didn't really want the hassle! They'll only be on the car four months each year probably and I have the room to store them. I don't know how many times you can put a tyre on a rim and take it off again but even if you can do it again and again, I'm expecting the ...

Re: What headlights - Megane GT
Megane and headlights ... mmm. Having spent a happy afternoon trying this once on my 1.5dci - it was like a cross between scrapheap challenge and James Herriot - my honest advice is, buy the bulb from Halfords and pay them to fit it! It's worth it to see the guys face as he walks to the car park and...

Steel rims for 2008 1.5dci Megane 5d Hatchback
Hi there! I wonder if someone can help me? My car has 205/55 R16 tyres on alloys. It originally came with factory fitted Contis and I recently changed these (25k) for Bridgestone ER300s. I'll have to drive a lot of miles this winter and am considering buying some winter tyres - I'm told these perfor...
