ah i bought it with a blown up so not sure whats happened. It was a brand spanking new turbo, not a recon. trying to send it back under warranty as the bearing has disentergrated. He wants to send it to his "turbo specialist" for examination, yeah right, more like he will just say its not ...

Had a seriously annoying time with the newly installed turbo on friday, after just 400 ish miles its died a death, destroying the bearing and seal.. in the middle of rush hour in leicester.. brilliant!!!

Oil pipework was replaced, fresh quality oil.. cant understand how this has happeded!

Im afraid diesel exhausts and petrol are rather different mate.

Morning Chaps, Finally driving around in the meggy that i rebuilt the other week and loving it, but there is deffinetely something up with it, the mpg is very poor indeed. I could easily get 50mpg out of my 1.9 dci laguna, but even driving like the safest granny in the world, im getting 36 ish. Now ...

being honest, i never bother releasing the air out of the filter. give it plenty of squirts on the pump and she "should" start up

probably just a loose wire, or the heating element could have failed on the back of the mirror glass, they are only about a tenner new off ebay.

left hand side, pretty much on the side of the wing, its about the size of a ... lightbulb? .. black rubber, and squeezable. it'll take quite a few pumps but it should go firm which means all the air is out of the system. Without doing this, itll never start.

have you primed it with the pump under the bonnet.....

had to fabricate up a little device to apply pressure to it vertically whilst i yanked the hell out of it with a metre long prying bar... but we got there in the end!

DOH!!! ive just been reading up about how common it is for these buggers to be stuck in there solid and requiring a hydraulic ram to remove them.
