Thanks for advice, the bit I retained was 24cm long. I think there must be another 20cm or so, still stuck in the pipe. The pipe itself looks as if it might be screwed into the bottom part of the engine - no bolts. I think you're right though - it's down to a garage, oil out and sump off. Again thanks

I have a 2005 1.5dci pulled the dipstick (yellow plastic) to check oil and it broke. Most of the bendy bit is still in the metal tube.
How do I get it out and is it dangerous to drive?
