Re: How to get rid of Service Light?

Got the gear oil changed as well as the engine oil, pollen filter and air filter. I reset the servicing interval on the trip computer and cleared the P0470 catalyst fault code. I still have the ABS, SERVICE and now also the STOP light lit up. Have run the car for several minutes, driven back and for...

Re: Transmission Oil

Thanks Alex. I got it done now. I found my old black funnel thing and cleaned it up before doing it. Unfortunately the tube on mine is quite short only about a foot or so but managed to get it done with a bit of difficulty. Had to bend it out of shape to get it past the underside of the battery so I...

Re: Transmission Oil

I just remembered. I am sure i have one of those plastic oil fillers funnels that are quite long. I will have to try and find it but it will be difficult to thread it through because there isn't much room for anything under my good. Huge battery and other pipes and stuff.

Re: Transmission Oil

I drained out all the remaining gear oil last night. Now the difficult part. How the sodding hell do I get it back in again? It is almost impossible to as the bottle wont fit up into the gap to do it. I wish I had of known as I would have brought my pump with me but I'm not sure if that will do the ...

Re: Halfway through servicing

Is the fault code DF470 or P0470? Also, not sure about the rest, but for the ABS, its possible that the sensor has been pulled out from the hub - if it has, it will just plug back in and the light will go out as soon as you drive off.... Yep it is the P0470. I have had it previously but have heard ...

Re: Halfway through servicing

I've just been back out to the garage with my code reader. It came up with the is it 470? I think that means catalyst which is a usual one that doesn't mean anything in particular and a known false reading issue on the Megane. While I was clearing the codes though the message came up that said "...

Halfway through servicing

I got my engine oil changed today at last. I am just waiting for a spare bolt and washer for the transmission sump now so I can change that oil out as it has been leaking and probably only half full by now. Unfortunately I got the ABS light lit up on my dash. Could be to do with water that came down...

Re: Transmission Oil

Thanks. Do you know if the manual gearboxes in the Megane use Brass or Molybdenum synchros? I don't want to put the wrong type of oil in. The Renault Manual says TRJ 75W-80 but that is no longer produced and I suspect the replacement from Renault will be quite expensive and lower quality than I can ...

Transmission Oil

I have noticed a leak of transmission oil from the bottom of the sump under my car. It appears when they replaced my gearbox six months ago they didn't put a new washer back on as there doesn't appear to be one there at all now. Someone remind me how much oil do I need for the gearbox again? Is it a...

Re: 2 x headlamp bulbs replaced in 15 minutes

My last bulb replacement took me an hour in Sainsburys car park. I got the more expensive bulbs so hopefully they will last longer but am considering finding some LED ones for the next time I replace if they make any suitable as I don't think they will be as likely to blow. I have my auto lights tur...

Box end needed for oil change?

Does anyone know what size box end I need for my oil change to get the drain plug out? It looks like it is about half an inch to me maybe slightly less? I do have one somewhere but can't find it so will have to go out and get a new one for my wrench. Cheers!
