Auto electrician checked everything and said it was not electrical (phew!). They then got an air-con guy in who tested it and said there was no gas in it so the compressor does not kick in. He re-gassed the system and all is working fine. Just need to get the radio sorted out now. Been to the Renaul...

Could be a blocked filter. I had the same symptoms on my old car and it turned out to be a clogged air filter.

Cheers for your help. I've contacted the garage and took it in for a quick look. The couldn't find anything obvious but they have said to take it back in on Monday as they have an auto-electrician coming in who will check the electrical side of it.

The air-con used to be very cold before it went in for the timing belt. I've tried running it without the air-con on and then switching it on and I can't hear the compressor kicking in so I think the air-con is not functioning. What is the AUX belt?
