Re: Service Light and airbag light appearing

I had a look under the driver's seat and saw the clip/switch mentioned in other posts. It wasn't loose, but I gave the wires a wobble anyway and it seems to have fixed the problem :-) The warning lights have disappeared and steering lock is back working.

Thanks a million.

Re: Service Light and airbag light appearing

Thanks I'll have a look in the morning for a loose cable. BTW, it's a 5-door.

Service Light and airbag light appearing

Happy Christmas everyone. A couple of hours ago the Service light and Airbag symbol light started showing, along with a 'Steering Not Locked' message. When I start the car I notice a distinct 'thunk' somewhere behind me - it sounds like the central locking or perhaps dead-bolt engaging sound. Can I ...

Re: Sound of gurgling water - should I be concerned?

You were spot on with your analysis. There was about an inch of water in the scuttle, and a poke of a clothes hanger had the drain unblocked in seconds.

Thanks for your helpful reply.

Re: Sound of gurgling water - should I be concerned?

That sounds promising. There was a lot of ice on my windscreen yesterday morning, which I cleared by pouring on a kettle of cold water ... coupled with all the snow we had last week ... Looking under the bonnet this evening, I did notice some leaves and other mucky debris in the corners of that coll...

Sound of gurgling water - should I be concerned?

I made about a 200 mile round trip yesterday over some hilly terrain. The road was covered with hard compacted snow in places, for about 20 miles. I didn't drive the car again until this evening. Tonight, when I turned the steering wheel, I heard the distinctive sound of water gurgling somewhere beh...

Re: Boot Lock faulty | won't open

Just a follow up ... I never got around to looking at the lock, but the issue seemed to resolve itself after a couple of weeks, and has been fine ever since. This indicates that the switch and motor are fine, so it looks more and more like dampness.

Boot Lock faulty | won't open

Hi guys, My boot lock has been intermittent for some months, but has stopped working altogether in the past couple of weeks. I can't open the boot from the outside; however, it will open from the inside via the release leaver on the lock itself. Is this a known problem? Is the boot lock a modular un...
