Re: Wrong model sticker on drivers pillar?

The VIN code contains 205 if it's the 100bhp model.

That equals about 1 litre every 20000 miles. Nothing to worry about.

Re: aaaaaaah stalling when turned on

You need to get a CLIP test done otherwise you will start playing an expensive and time-consuming game of 'poke and hope'. It could be the beginnings of the dephaser pulley. Hopefully not as this will set you back a good £500. A failed DP should show a code on the CLIP test. Renault Build A Better C...

Re: Leave it in gear on a hill or not?

The manual is speaking nonsense. You should always leave a car in gear. The Highway code says so as well.

Re: Faulty Window Regulator funded by Renault UK

I had two go on mine, one in warranty and the other about four months out.

These problems shouldn't really happen but credit to Renault for paying up.

Re: Extended Warranty

I generally have a low opinion of after-market warranties.
If you go for one then check the small print very carefully for exactly what is and what isn't covered.

Mine used to whine a bit in fifth. But French whine is better than British whine

I no longer have a Megane. I am waiting for the new model at the end of this year.

Thanks for the comments. I shall be in France for Easter so I shall go into a Renault garage and try and get a new knob. Poor design though - you wonder how much development time is spent by manufaturers. My knob was perfect until a mechanic took the car for a test drive... 30 years of Renault owner...

Gear lever numbers wearing off

Hello,

The numbers on the grear lever are wearing off. Anyone know what I can do about it? It seems a sort of rubbery coating - not very durable.

I have read about other owners having this problem. Any solution?
