I am doing a 10 mile trip on small country A-roads driving between 30 to 60 M.p.h
Claned the throttle housing today, now showing 29 M.p.g, slightly better,

Hi All,

Just to let you know, replaced all four pencil coils on my meg today and its running luverly now.
Thanks to all those who gave me advice and some clues!!

All I need now is some sunshine so I can get the roof down again!

Hi Andywills, Thanks for your reply, I think you are right I run a few checks tonight (uncliped the small connector to the coils one by one) cylinder three had no affect on the engine while all the others virtually stalled the engine, I swapped the faulty coil to no one cylinder and the problem went...

Driving home on monday night my 2005 Megane Coupe Cab 1.6 vvt lost power and the engine started to run a little rough, the idle speed had dropped slightly and the fuel consumption started to deterioate, then after only a few more miles the engine management light came on...

thanks for your reply, I have done exactly that, its amazing actually how many cv boots from different model Renaults are the same!
I got a 54 plate clio one in the end and it fiited fine! back on the road now M.o.t,d as well, and no leaky cv boot....Cheers!
