Re: One Wheel Drive ?!?
Thanks for all the responses - clearly i thought there was an issue when there wasnt but its re-assuring to hear it. What caught me out was I have never had a car where I have seen this happen and been stuck in snow and ice many times. I suppose its difficult to see from behind the wheel! Although w...

LOL - I may be big but not that big!! I can actually climb out the car with the clutch lifted with the left wheel spinning / right not moving despite both being on solid ice!

Re: One Wheel Drive ?!?
Thanks for the prompt responses. I understand the concept of a differential, however, the thing that was confusing me is that both wheels were on ice. If i take the car out now, put it on the icy road and accelerate, the left wheel spins the right stays put. Go backwards and forwards a few times the...

One Wheel Drive ?!?
Missus was using the car today when I get the call we all dread! She was stuck trying to get out of her sisters road. Just lifting the clutch wouldnt pull. Her sister said left front wheel is spinning right isnt moving. Got there and firstly inflated back tyre! Must be a slow puncture. Anyway, tried...

Re: Losing oil? "Top Up Oil"
Got a friend to do an oil change this morning. used Fuchs fully synth / filter from GFS. Anyway, passed him the details of the breather issue and asked him to check the return pipe to the sump / metal pipe that it connects to and hey presto, both blocked. He cleared them both and chaged the oil / fi...

Re: Losing oil? "Top Up Oil"
Well good news on the MOT. The car passed so saved a bit of money there! The garage also offered the oil change and filter for £25 + VAT all in. This sounds like a very good deal to me. Surely the oil would cost that much! They said they change with Semi-Sythentic on this car??? Anyway the oil chang...

Re: Losing oil? "Top Up Oil"

Losing oil? "Top Up Oil"
Hi, Been getting the Top up Oil light on the car over the last few weeks. Put in about 2 to 3 litres in total. Take yesterday for instance, got the "top up oil" warning, checked the dipstick and it did seem low (although I have to say the dipstick aint one of the best ones I have had on a ...

Re: Check Injection and limp mode - 1.9DCi
It could be the glow plugs if you get the error etc from cold. If the engine is warm then I believe the glow plugs are not used. Either way, I did a simple check on the glow plugs with a multi meter (got details on this forum). I am not mechanically minded but got myself a meter from halfords. Reall...

Re: Check Injection and limp mode - 1.9DCi
Update again - after what looked like a failure straight after me cleaning the EGR may (hopefully) be a red herring. I took the car out and at first was a little sluggish - more noticeable in first, and then seemed to go well. Done about 20 miles with no issue and no repeat of the "injection&qu...

Re: Check Injection and limp mode - 1.9DCi
Update: Checked the glow plugs with a meter and as expected they were all ok. I then removed the EGR, it was heavily coked /sooted up. Gave it a good clean with carb cleaner popped back, car started, was ok for about 5 minutes then "check injection" etc etc.... Booked in tomorrow with Rena...

Check Injection and limp mode - 1.9DCi
Hi to all (yes its my first post!). OK, on my way back from Manchester yesterday (motorway) when all of a sudden Check Injector light comes on and car goes into "limp" mode. It limped all the way back to stoke, (I did try a stop / start at the lights but straight back to warning / limp). A...
