Re: de-cat

I got quoted £300 for a de-cat on my 1.9 dci!! The garage said it was a graft and would cost the same as having a full s/s kit fitted. This was the same garage that did my Zafira DTi de-cat for £30! I've had 3 de-cated diesels and have had 3 different results. 1.8 Escort TDi went quicker, Zafira was...

225 Decat compared to a DCI Decat....

Just wondering if the same amount of work was required to decat a 1.9 dci as a 225? The reason being is that I'm going to be going round a few exhaust places over the next week to get some prices to decat my DCI. I'm selling my tuning box on Ebay and putting the money towards a decat. After a new ba...

Re: Clean Megane :D

Looks very clean, but don't you just hate it when the garage puts weights on the rim of alloys? They're on mine and were when I bought it. Got to get it sorted.

300nm = 221lbs. Just as I thought. I love being right :D

Re: The limits of tuning a 1.9 dci.

Thanks for the replys. Firstly, I'm not looking to change my car for anything faster or more expensive. I'm planning on keeping this car for a while and spending a few grand on the engine is the plan. An RS dci is out of my league and a 225 isn't an option yet; I'm a big diesel fan and it's about ti...

The limits of tuning a 1.9 dci.

I'm a little new to the dci engine so I have a few questions. I know what to do to a HDI to get 180 bhp but I'm struggling on the DCI. I've heard the turbo won't take much more than a remap. How about the intercooler? I'm aiming for 180 bhp. If the turbo won't take it I'm going to get a tuning box a...

Re: another 1.9DCI remap question

35bhp seems like alot, 155bhp and well over 300lb/ft torque sound lurvly. 35 bhp sounds about right for a good remap from someone who knows what they are doing with this engine. But doesn't the 1.9 120 only have 221 ft/lbs as standard? I don't thing a remap would take it to well over 300. Would be ...

Re: 300 mile Welsh trip for fish & chips

I'm a diesel head and I was after a very late HDI estate. I used to own one a while back and loved it. They're easily tunable upto 150+bhp which was what I was planning. The end of the line diesels had GTI suspension and brakes(I think) and would of been a real sleeper if I'd done it. I went to have...

300 mile Welsh trip for fish & chips

Took my car for a blast yesterday to New Quay and back. Covered 304 miles and averaged 51.3 mpg so I'm quite chuffed with that. It's a bit of tradition to take any new car of ours for a blast somewhere, even if it's just for fish & chips and an icecream! The car really impresses round bends so I...

Hi from a new Megane owner

Hi guys, I stubbled across this site when I Googled 'check injection' that my new motor was displaying. All sorted now. Well here she is: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/craigh21/Megane001.jpg http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/craigh21/Megane002.jpg It look quite a dull photo, it loo...

Re: How To: Check & Change Glow Plugs

Great 'how to' guide. I stubbled across this when I Googled the 'check injection' fault and I'm now a member - great forum. I did everything as explained and found glow plug 3 was dead. The code was still there even after disconnecting the battery for half hour. Had the fault code removed by a local...
