steering rack???

Hi, Just fitted Eibach -30mm springs and new upper strut mounts. Took the car to have the alignment checked as it pulls slightly to the left. I was advised it is not worth doing the alignment as the steering rack is supposedly worn. Car is a 56 plate 1.6 hatch with 30'000 on the clock. Is there any ...

Re: ideal Meg stance?

I have the 06 version of your meg.

Installed some 18" Wolfrace Ikon rims and have just received my Eibach pro kit springs.

With standard ride height there is still a mahoosive gap between tire and arch.

I would not recommend anything smaller than an 18 if your not lowering.

How to fit lowering springs

Hi, I have a 1.6 meg II hatchback. I have just ordered the relevant EIbach pro lowering springs. Basically, I plan on installing these myself on the driveway. I already have 2 jackstands and 1 2T hydraulic jack. I will buy a torque wrench that covers a decent range of settings and a set of spring cl...

Re: Grip!!!

Thank you Alex, obviously very knowledgeable.

It is safe to say i will be investing in some good quality rubber. Also will be looking at a set of coilovers but unsure where to look for the megane, would this be suitable?

Can anyone recommend a manufacturer and price range?

Re: Grip!!!

Hey folks, Thanks for the replies. The tires are budget low profiles, Fullrun branded and according to reviews i have read they are suscebtable to just erm, catching drivers out. I have not actually lowered the car or changed springs yet. It is bog standard apart from the new 225/40/18 rims and a co...

Grip!!!

Hey, Just smashed brand new alloy wheel on a kerb. My back end spun out while cornering, I was not giving it some either. I went back to the point i slid and the road was perfectly dry and tires to match. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen as it has happened before, without the collisio...

Handbrake difficult to release

Just a quicke, It may be irresponsible but when temptation gets the better of me during cornering and i resort to tugging the handbrake on my 56 plate 1.6 Dynamique, the majority of the time the handbrake locks even though i hold the button in and i have to be at a standstill to release it. Any idea...

Re: Handmade car furniture

I seriously like the idea,

I was thinking of a chair. A reclining bucket seat mounted to a subframe with 12 or 13 inch wheels and tires on all corners. Would look sweet.

Good luck with your venture mate.

Re: lowering springs

oh, i assumed that due to a heavier front end that the front springs would be stiffer.

cheers for the help guys, may have to stay stock just now, funds are a bit tight.

Re: lowering springs

well folks,

cheers for the replies.

so basically its coilovers all round,

what are the chances of taking springs for the standard 2.0l petrol as surely they would be set a reasonable amount stiffer.

From a handling point of view would that be beneficial??
