Megane now gone and after been advised by a few mecahnics I have opted for a safer/reliable option of a Vauxhall Astra.

Possibly need a new engine due to damaged piston ring.
Any advice on best place to source reconditioned engine for 53 plate 1.4 dynamique ?

Garage phoned ............ Either burnt out valve or damaged piston ring. His guess is piston ring because of burnt carbon evidence on spark plugs to which he said could possibly be a new engine :banghead :banghead Any one any suggestions for anywhere that does "reasonabily" priced recondi...

First garage I was taken to by "Greenflag" recovery as the people that came out to me do not do roadside diagnostics !!! Got a free diagnostic check and promptly took my car away to another garage where I know the people there, the current garage does my MOT's and also fixed my car last ye...

Quick update.... Car now in different garage ... spark plugs changed - still the same Coil packs checked - they are ok Have been advised that compression is low but not as low as first though so should not cause symptoms. Tomorrow bulk head being taken off and injectors getting checked out :banghead...

Hi,

Had the check injection message at the beginning of the year and car cut out (petrol not diesel).
Unfortunatley it was my timing belt that had gone and £1000 later was fixed

SIll pretty damaged... cracked inside and gap below door.
Rear quater aslo deeply scratched and dented

it is a 5 door and the rear quater looks to be 1 unit that goes all he way along the side of the car ????

Not sure if I posted below in wrong section...
Any help would be appreciated...
