Re: Car won't start, multiple issues.

I've just posted about this, but in case you miss it. Try contacting Haynes technical service, via their website. It's free and I got a response within 24 hours (probably not at the weekend though)and ended up pretty much having a real time conversation about my specific problem this morning. Highly...

Recommendation.

For any body having problems with their Megane, can I recommend the Haynes technical contact service on their website. It's free, you don't have to join anything and I was responded to within 24 hours, in fact I pretty much had a real time conversation this morning about the issue I've been having. ...

Re: Car won't start, multiple issues.

I'm no expert, but I also own a 1.5 diesel estate and am having starting issues at the moment although my car turns over but doesn't fire up (sometimes). First thing I would do would be to disconecct the new battery and leave it disconected for an hour or so. It does sound like an electrical issue a...

Re: 2005, Renault Megane Estate, (1.9 DCi), Elusive Error

Sparks and leads OK ??? You have a diesel it doesn't have spark plugs. I am having an intermittent starting problem with my 1.5 diesel as well. Turns over but doesn't fire up. I bought a bluetooth diagnotic OBDII fault reader and glowplug(open circuit) and Fuel pressure regulator were flagged up. Re...

Re: Megane is clutch slipping

Had to have my clutch replaced last Sept. I knew it was on it's way out as hard acceleration when needed just wasn't there and you start getting an obvious smell coming from what I guess is the clutch plates slipping and overheating. Don't do as I did and leave it too late, then drive on the motorwa...

Fuel rail pressure sensor

Ongoing issues with starting and getting P0089 Fuel pressure regulator performance code. Have replaced said regulator, has been starting fine the last few times of trying, thought issue was solved and then it happened again, turns over but no start, Having researched online, seems that possible issu...

P0203 Misfire cylinder 3

Having had issues with cold starting and diagnosed glow plug and fuel pressure regulator issues, I replaced all glowplugs, fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. Car now starts good as gold but is misfiring on cylinder 3, diagnosed P0203 Injector circuit malfunction cyl 3. Very frustrating as prev...

P0089 fuel pressure regulator a performance

After problems starting the car from cold, I recently replaced all of the glowplugs and the fuel filter.
Diagnostic shows P0089.
Is it as simple as replacing the fuel pressure regulator?
Having said that the Haynes manual isn't very clear regarding the pressure regulator for my model.

Re: Non start, 2 fault codes, any ideas?

Before you suspect the worst ..... Get the battery checked. You need to test for a battery drain, look it up on Google under "Battery drain test" These cars don't like low voltages, so if when you are cranking the engine the voltage drops off it will throw up faults. You are correct, a ba...

Non starter, 2 fault codes, any ideas?

Hello all, It's been nearly 7 years since I last posted, Tbh those 7 years have been almost trouble free just wear and tear issues and of course the idiosyncrasies that only being a Megane owner can throw up. I live in central London and in the next 2 years will be subject to the ultra low emissions...

Re: Technical advice please.

Just reading all the replies again, thanks all, but honestly I'm no wiser whether to go ahead with this claim or not. AlexB-one minute you seem to be telling me, Renault Wimbledon followed the correct procedure and the next you are telling me they were totally ripping me off, also you said " Th...

How to fit a new horn?

Horn has died and I've got an MOT in a month, I've read it's a pretty easy retrofit, but no-one outlines how you get the front grill off, the official advice I believe is removing a lot more body parts. Any pointers, the advice I've read so far is a bit unclear. Cheers

Re: Technical advice please.

AlexB. ''The second garage just traced these four wires in the engine bay and fixed the problem.'' Why didn't the first garage do the the same? Instead of spending 2 hours looking, not finding anything and then suggesting that the dash be stripped down and the loom replaced. Where exactly were they ...

Re: Technical advice please.

Cheers again both. AlexB what paperwork (evidence) are you talking about? All I have are 2 bills outlining the work done. I was obviously contacted by them prior to the initial work starting and told that they were going to address the turbo issue first. Not being remotely mechanically minded I agre...
