Re: Mégane II - Xenon headlight playing up!
Thanks, all sorted. I bit the bullet today and went for the mammoth task of swapping the bulbs to make sure it is the actual bulb at fault, and thankfully it was. For any Mégane Xenon owners coming across this, the bulb is an Osram Xenarc 66040 which has since been renamed with the part number 66240...

Well the situation has worsened.... the light is now completely dead!
Investigations will begin at the weekend, thanks for the advice.

Mégane II - Xenon headlight playing up!
Hi guys, My mum's 2.0 16v Meg is feeling the effects of these dark days, the poor headlights are never off! Anyway, I noticed that the passenger side headlight just hasn't looked as bright lately, and just now as she was pulling into the drive, I noticed it's starting to flicker!! :-( Not goo...

Re: Water in storage box in drivers footwell
The problem is the scuttle drain at the base of the windscreen clogging up with leaves and guck. About 10 litres of water gather and flow into the car through the air intake. You need to get yourself a wiper removal tool, remove the wiper arms, the plastic panel over the scuttle well and unblock eve...

Re: Indicator Flashing fast
My Meggy gets this every now and then. Removing the bulb holder is next to impossible (Xenon headlight model) so twisting the bulb holder around a bit usually helps!

A re-introduction!
Nothing like celebrating three years with the Mégane by having a neighbour reverse into it and write it off! I considered a Vel Satis and or another Avantime but to be honest, the Meg is the best all rounder I've ever come across. Absolutely love them. Mine was a 2.0 VVT which was very well spec'd i...

Re: Carminat Navigation question!
Well it's the right disc, but it can't read it because it's so scratched. Now comes the fun of trying to find the right one

Re: Buying guide?
Need to chip in a vote for the 2.0 VVT petrol here. People overlook them because a)they're hard to find and b)sounds like a pointlessly big engine for the car. Without a doubt they seem to be the most reliable unit in the Megs, very few complaints from owners. It's such an excellent engine, and bett...

Re: Carminat Navigation question!
Yes Chris it's the turn by turn, red and black screen one, so fingers crossed this is the one because I have a feeling it'll be a nightmare getting hold of one. The Laguna I had had the same system, it was the Dynamique Techno model so it was just turn by turn, not the full colour screen one in the ...

Carminat Navigation question!
Hey guys, Finally found a Mégane with an equally huge spec to replace my own after the write off :( I've spoken to the seller and apparently the map disc is missing from the Carminat Navigation system. Now I found this in the handbook back of my old Laguna which had the same system, but I'm unsure a...

The mark one is a BRILLIANT car! We have a 1.6 auto as the user and abuser and I have very few bad things to say about it

I was told they aren't. On cars with Hands Free it's the car that is equipped to look for the card.

Nope, there's sunlight sensors and temperature sensors that make the climate control work that your car won't have. Defo not a realistic retro-fit!

Yup! Had to lend mum the Avantime when it happened to hers - didn't stop raining for a good few days, typical!
