Re: Shark fin
As previous posters had commented the problem with mine was indeed the aerial amplifier, it was heavily corroded. Renault garage wanted £25 for the part and £50 for labour. I bought one from a really helpful guy on eBay who sells various Renault parts, he even included the aerial for £15 inc P&P...

Passenger Side Rear Light Issue
Anyone else experience a problem with the "main" light or brake light on the passenger rear side. The brake light does not come on in the day (and does on the driver side) and I have replaced the bulb and tried the fuses, however it works when the lights are switched on in the evening and ...

I think I am having the same problem but on the passenger side. Scrapping noise and stuttering every inch or so. Anyone got any advice.

Re: Shark fin
I think mine may be suffering from corrosion. I have no plans to replace with a shark fin, but would like to know how to disconnect the aerial base in the first place and if some wire wool and connector greese would help, or will I need a new £20 aerial base?

Re: really bad nosie from under the car
I hope it's the same problem, as it's a cheap(free) and easy fix. The garage can't fix anything without your permission (they need to determine what a fault is and ask you consent to fix it, if they fail to resolve the issue you are not obligated to pay), so if they say it's something else (they may...

Re: really bad nosie from under the car
Chris, It could well be the air-con, I hadn't thought of that. That was the annoying thing for me, it was intermittent noise and when it was checked it didn't make the noise. I'm not sure how the air-con cylinder is supposed to be attached to it's housing but this is just a flange and bracket, if yo...

Aerial Problem
Never had a problem with my radio before, but took my car through a car wash last week and forgot to take the aerial off. The problem doesn't seem to be that the brushes damaged it, but a blow/dryer heater that had sensors to raise it when it came into contact with the car. They seem to have failed ...

Re: Strange noise as the revs fall back through 3000rpm & start
I had a similar problem, a few weeks back. The noise appeared to be coming from the drivers side front suspension, then it sounded more like a knocking noise from the engine (I thought tappets at first). I lifted the bonnet and rocked the car to see if I could detect the noise (no luck) so then I st...

Re: Engine cutting out - 1.6VVT
Just made lots of calls to the HQ of Lookers and produced the receipts for the work they had carried out, that hadn't fixed the problem. The dealership was annoyed (I guess because they have sales targets to achieve) I would have paid the £130 if, they had got it right first time. No "legal&quo...

Re: Engine cutting out - 1.6VVT
Just joined this forum as a result of a strange knocking noise from the n/s/f of the car, which I will post pics of what and "the fix" at the weekend. I assume most people who have posted, will have resolved their issues by now, but for those who haven't this was my situation: When my car ...
