Rear window demister
Hi, I've noticed that if I turn on the rear window demister on my 2012 1.2tce, it stays on for the duration of my journey. Is this correct? On every car I have previously owned, the demister works on a timer.

Model differences
I am about to purchase a 2007 1.9dci (non fap) megane tourer. It is apparently a "dynamique S". Can anyone please tell me what makes it different from a dynamique?

Electric window motor controller!
My drivers side window motor has just packed up. After I unplugged the motor from the loom, I noticed the free socket feeding the motor was slightly melted around one of the pins. I dismantled things further in the hope of carrying out a repair, but was shocked at the state of the circuit board insi...

Re: Speedo 10mph out ?
Hi, its generally accepted that all speedos tend to be "optimistic" with their readings but yours is not a normal case. I would expect an error of between 5% possibly up to 10% absolute maximum. If you had a 10% error, you would be 10mph out at 100mph but only 3mph out at 30mph. If you did...

Re: 2006 Megane Start up Issues
If you want to check out the TDC sensor, there are plenty of google images available of the offending item. It works on magnetism. It generates pulses from the flywheel & sends them to the ecu when the engine is at TDC. Unfortunately, it attracts any ferrous debris that might come off the flywhe...

Re: 2006 Megane Start up Issues
Hi, sounds like it might be TDC sensor trouble. Ive had this myself. Remove it and clean any swarf from the end. I never had any trouble whatsoever after I cleaned mine.

Re: Passenger side Electric Window not Working!
You say there was no noise coming from the window motor? I think the last reply to your post was a bit hasty. The passenger window stopped working on my 2007 Megane. When I removed all the door trim panel to investigate the problem, the window suddenly began working again! I think a lot of Megane el...

Re: Car won't start!!
The symptoms you describe are exactly the ones we had on our 1.6vvt some time ago. The fault is with the tdc sensor. A lot of people have replaced theirs, but ours simply required a clean. Being magnetic, it had attracted "swarf" on the end of it which de-sensitised it. Removing the swarf ...

Re: Door handle 'chrome' cracked
In case anyone was hoping to replace just the cracked part of their door handles (a fairly common problem) , I've just had a reply back from Renault parts direct . . . . . Apparently the handle is only available complete for the sum of £64.26 each!! Think I'll get 4 stainless steel covers fr...

Tyre pressures?
Can somebody please tell me what the tyre pressures should be on my 2007 1.6 megane? The handbook only refers to a label on the driver's door. The label doesn't exist!

Door handle 'chrome' cracked
The chrome (only on the rear part of the door handle that doesn't move) is cracked & starting to peel. Not only does it make the car look tatty, but this is now happening on 2 of the doors & the car is only just over 3 years old :mad . Is this a common problem, & is it possible to replac...

Cruise control?
I've been looking to buy a megane with cruise control. Some are decribed as having it & some not. On the assumption (?) that maybe not all dealers will correctly describe ALL of the features on a particular car, is it possible to tell from a photo of the interior if a car is fitted with cruise o...

Re: Outside air temperature indicator
Thanks for the replies, I've just found this:- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4842&p=35044&hilit=temperature+SENSOR#p35044 which seems to confirm that it might be just a sensor fault.
