Re: My car won't start

Hello there.....usually the starter motor gets a pulse on the activation lead ( this lead activates/operates the starter solenoid) and then the starter motor turns. Can you check to see if your starter motor is turning. On manual transmissions one has to press the clutch pedal before pressing the st...

Re: Bench testing egr

Hello there..... Re testing the egr and the pinouts. I tested mine in situ by connecting a voltmeter ( on DC voltage scale) across pins 2 and 6. Pin 6 is the "result wire" back to the ecu. Pin 2 is an electronic earth.I joined two wires to these wires( back a few cms from the pins) and bro...

Re: CC Auto problem.

A youtube video shows the valve body of the dp4 al4 gearbox being repaired and was the result of a "check gearbox" error.

Re: Window jammed

Hello..a few years ago I had a similar problem and it turned out the temic unit was faulty. The actual winder motor was ok. I tested the motor by using the + and - leads of a battery charger. I removed the window trim and also removed the temic unit ( can be tricky). The temic unit piggybacks on the ...

Re: aircon low pressure port

Normally there are two air con pipes attached to the air con compressor pump. One is bigger than the other. The bigger pipe is normally the low pressure pipe. Follow the bigger pipe back from the pump and you should be able to locate the low pressure nozzle ( port) on this pipe.

Re: Windows

I changed a temic before on the rear right hand door. The temic unit has six pins labelled 1-6. The other end of the temic connects to the winder motor. Pin1 gets a window raise signal ( earth applied). Pin2 gets a window lower signal ( earth applied) Pin3 has full chassis earth. Pin4 has +12volts p...

Re: Best way to change subframe bushings?

hello there...If you wish I could post a few pages from a manual describing how to remove a subframe from a megane2 for years 2002 to 2005. Not sure about the procedure for a 2008 megane2 but it should be roughly similar. If you get to the stage of getting the frame off its recommended to get the ol...

Re: Stuck open window

Hello there.....This happened to me on the same window....The control module ( aka the temic unit) was faulty. I am assuming this is the same situation with you. To access this you will need to to take the insides off the door. I managed to remove this temic unit and was left with a bare window moto...

Re: crankshaft pulley torque settings megane 1.5dci 2004

hello there.....according to the Haynes Manual (for years 2002 to 2005 ) that I have there are two situations.. If your crankshaft bolt is an M12 then stage one is to torque it to 60 NM and stage two is to angle tighten it a further 100° +/- 10° If your crankshaft bolt is an M14 then stage one is to...

Re: M2 1.5dci 106bhp - Reconditioned Turbo - Boost Drops

Hello there......Did you find out why the turbo shaft snapped?....Did you replace both turbo oil feed pipe and turbo return oil pipe or at least check that they are not blocked.? Did you get the intercooler and the associated piping properly cleaned? Get a vacuum pump and apply vacuum pressure to th...

Re: Automatic gear stick hissing

I see you have a petrol engine..usually there is a hose/pipe going from the inlet manifold to the servo unit. if you could clamp this pipe so that the servo unit is disabled. Now sit in the car and press the brake pedal a few times so that it is hard to press( all vacuum now gone out of servo). Next...

Re: Automatic gear stick hissing

Hello there......when you press the brake pedal the servo unit admits air into one side of the unit ...is this the air intake hiss you might be hearing?..Normally there is a small air filter and a rubber boot fitted around the brake pedal/servo push rod. This might be the source of the noise. Unlike...
