Re: Starting problems - 2006 Megane 1.6 16v
Sorry I haven't sorted the problem out yet. We have a number of problems with the Megane and this one is now bottom of the list. Just had the front window motors and regulators sorted. Renault paid 75% of cost. Its going back into the dealer as the door pockets keep filling up with water. Again anot...

Re: Sidelight bulb replacement
Or get a friend with small hands who can do it. When I needed to replace mine about 6 weeks ago, it was under 5 mins start to finish. That's doihng it the first way you tried. The dipped beams are a totally different matter though. The only way I can see is with the bumper off. I do have small hand...

Sidelight bulb replacement
I have tried this morning to replace the n/s sidelight bulb on the missus '56 plate 1.6 16v. I though the headlamps bulbs were bad but this is ridiculous. I took out the battery and the air pipe that goes across. Took the rubber cover off the lights fitting and then tried to feel around for the righ...

Re: Starting problems - 2006 Megane 1.6 16v
I saw another thread that said you need to unclip the ECU and then undo the three Torx bolts on the battery tray. So I gave it another go. But the Torx screws are badly corroded and won't come out. Does any one know what Torx screws they are and the length so I can get some replacement ones. Or a pa...

Re: Removing front speakers
I plucked up the courage and tugged the speaker covers off, whats with the stupid plastic tab that goes under the door handle? Anyhow, I then got out the hose and sprayed the car door. Had a look inside and water was seeping in from around the bottom of the speaker. Took the speaker out and it was w...

Re: Removing front speakers
Yeah I'm not too fussed about the speaker as it should be ok.
Its the door pocket getting full of water that i'm trying to stop.
I thought I had to re-seal the speaker to stop the water getting into the door pocket??

Re: First gear Judder
The car does not idle really smoothly and its not extreme juddering. But you do feel it through the pedals, steering wheel and the seat. Its the wifes car and she doesn't pay any attention to these things. But I borrowed the car last night and today and its not right. General driving to me feels a l...

Removing front speakers
I need to check the seal around the front speakers as I am getting water in my door pocket. And I have some questions: 1) How do you get the plastic speaker grille off. I have given it a little tug but don't want to break any tabs. 2) I was going to put a bit of silicon sealant (bathroom stuff) arou...

First gear Judder
Me again. Another problem to solve!
The car judders when you lift the clutch to engage 1st gear. Once it warms up the judder becomes less apparent. I can only feel it going into 1st gear.
Any ideas?

Re: Where is my TDC Sensor 1.6 2003
How did you get the battery tray out?
I got the battery out and then got scared as the ecu seems to be bolted to the battery tray.
I can see 2/3 torx screws on the bottom of the battery tray and then one on the front left of the tray connected to an air pipe?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Starting problems - 2006 Megane 1.6 16v
Well I decided that I would try and clean the TDC. The battery and battery tray needs to be removed. I can get the battery out but how do you get the battery tray out??? There are two Torx screws on the bottom (that are very rusty) then another at the front of the tray connected to a pipe (air??) Bu...
