found this great guy and found the instructions. and saved all the pictures (hope hi doesn't mind)

from the center to the original hole = 62mm
ca. -30% shorter =
from the center to the new hole = ca. 40-42mm
(exactly on the milled edge of the actuator)

C/P

the long, original gear shift way always bugged me (2x 50mm = from neutral in each straight and odd gear each 50mm).
i've finally taken care about that. now 2x 30mm.
here is a small image sequence:

actuator concerned and disassembled:

located the part to cut out:

cut out and pressed out the ball stud:

new ball stud position identified:

hole in:

new ball stud screwed (with loctite):

actuator again completed:

the installation. start:
we know so slowly:
battery, ecu, battery-ground and air filter box out. it looks like, and you get to the actuator
unclip the gear shift cables:
Image

removed the fixing screws from the actuator and from the side of the gearbox housing the one locking screw.
then the actuator can be pulled out:
Image

the new actuator already there:

and the gear shift cables hung up again. it's now quite narrow, but it fits just an extent.
a shorter path can't be realized with original parts (is not necessary)

the gear shift way is now nice short and crisp.
from 2x50mm to 2x30mm not sound like much, but change the drive / shift significant.
the gear shift cables needn't to be adjusted. still fits best.
