Fitting a towbar (electrics)

Postby diff » Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:30 am

Hi,

I am trying to fit towbar to a mk 3 Mégane (2011 1.6 dynamique sat nav).

I am trying to work out the neatest place to pick up the light signals & install the bypass relay.

I found two connectors to the wiring in the compartment behind the rear light cluster (on the left hand side of the boot). Does anyone know what the pins/wires are on these connectors is?

If I get a chance I will post back with more detailed info tomorrow, but if it's anything like the scenic 3 (which it normally is) there is 1 heavy duty permanent live cable ran to each of the rear clusters (along with a heavy duty ground) and then a little signal wire to activate the brake light and another signal for the indicator. I guess the answer would be to use relays.
