Took these last time i changed bulb as i had to remove wheel arch liner(decidedly easy job i found too)
Thought they may help though as doing the job blind at least you have a sense of what to feel for.

1st one is of back of clip, i have circled the bottom 2 points where the clip legs sit in(all going well the clip doesn't need to come out of these it just pivots down on them)Also circled the hook at top without clip on
2nd picture is a closer shot of the hook at the top that the clip hooks onto to. This is drivers side so not sure if hook is other way on passenger side.
And 3rd one shows the clip back up in position hooked on and holding the bulb in place
