My body kit *with Pics*

Postby Gibzy » Fri Feb 19, 2010 8:13 pm

Right then chaps and chapettes, i am off to collect a brand new genuine renault 5 piece body kit tomorrow. just a few questions i hope you can help with.

1. can anyone identify fropm the below pics what kind of kit it is? (its the same as the pics but going on my 3 door)
2. Is £150 a fair price to pay? (for the front and rear diffusers, skirts, spoiler and a set of renault sport door bagdes)
3. what would be a fair price to spray the kit. (inclkuding the sumper quaters and side mouldings)

I don't know what the kit is called but I like it. £150 for all the bits seems very reasonable to me!

Is the rear diffuser piece just a stick on sort of jobbie? Looks great.

As for the paint it could be quite steep if you don't know anyone in bodywork. I got my mouldings done for £60 all in  because my cousin does it for a living!

im not going to be too bothered if the paint bill is around the £150 mark. That would be pretty decent for it all painted.
i know that its not the 'classic' or 'sport' renault kit, so god only knows. i like it and i think thats the main thing.

As for the rear diffuser, i will find out tomorrow, but not bothered if it is just bonded on. looks cool.

Just off now to befriend someone in a bodyshop :rock

Yeah if you find out what it's called let us know. The rear diffuser is pretty cool, wouldn't mind one of those myself!

Where are you getting it from?

A mate knows someone who works at a dealership. When they clear old stock. (kits, wheel, ice etc) he gives me first dibs on them. Lucky you may think, my bank says otherwise..............

Will update with pics tomorrow when i pick it up

Well Finally picked up the kit, Good job i went alone. the boxes were so big that all of the seats got folded down and the passenger seat tilted forward.

I found out that the kit is a special 5 piece made for the phase 2 megane. All still in thier original boxed with the "original renault additions" labels attached. i am so chuffed, the rear diffuser piece looks wicked against the renault /sebring exhaust i got on it......

I will get uploaded tomorrow some pics of the kit pieces before it goes off for spraying.

For this evening i will be trying to figure out why i have no heat / blowers in the car !!!! :devil

Great. Do the pieces have their own individual part numbers or is it just one big kit? Because I would like to know the part number for that rear diffuser trim.

Thanks for that part number.

On the second to last pic it looks like there is a piece cut out from the diffuser? Are my eyes deceiving me? :?

your eyes are working properly, there is a piece cut out. It is so that you can fit it with the sebring sports exhaust withyout it fouling. But even without the exhaust the cut out is not noticable once fitted.
